It's a good type of crying...like a soul-cleansing sort of cry.

Also, Dean Koontz, The Gospel According to Peanuts, and The Edge of Nowhere by Elizabeth George.

My favorite books are...

Divergent by Veronica Roth [it's part of a trilogy, through the third one hasn't come out yet. The second is called Insurgent. These are my absolute favorite books, they have a good amount of action as well as romance and I love the plot.]

The Maze Runner trilogy by James Dashner. [The three in this trilogy are finished, and there is also a prequel to it. The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, and The Death Cure are the three trilogy ones, and the prequel is called The Kill Order. I love the trilogy, and I am still reading The Kill Order.]

Harry Potter by JK Rowling :D

The Host by Stephenie Meyer. [Now, a lot of people bash this book just because Meyer wrote it, but I actually found it to be a lot better than Twilight, it has an interesting plot [there is not even a mention of vampires anywhere, if you dislike Twilight] and there are good romance-ey parts to it.]

Milkweed and Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. [These are more middle school age kid books, but if you haven't read them they are still a good read for any age, they just are a little short if you are used to a longer book. I added them because Spinelli used to be my favorite author and those are my two favorite books by him. Milkweed is historical fiction, and it's the only historical fiction I have really ever liked xD]

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card (I think). [This is a sci-fi book, so I don't know if you would read it. I really liked it, and I know there are other books and it's a series, but I haven't read them yet.]

There are more I can dig up from my mind if you'd like more :P

Hammer:
Thank you so much! The Host is my ultimate favorite book! I'm not much of a Twilight fan, but definitely not a hater; after reading that. You're right, it's wonderful. Did you know there is a movie coming out? Their choice of cast is horrid, but I still can't wait to watch it.(:

I'll try out the Milkweed one, though I am one to like thicker books.
Thanks again for the suggestions! Seeing as we both like The Host, I know we probably have more in common. Feel free to post more books, as long as they meet my standards. ^^ (:

Neo:
Any in particular? c8 I'm leaning more towards books that people are saying so I don't have to look through the author's whole website. :)

i really liked the Firebringer trilogy
the first book
Birth of the Firebringer
Although his father is the prince of the unicorns, Jan worries that he isn't worthy of his prophesied destiny and that he can't live up to his father's legacy. When he follows the warrior unicorns on their pilgrimage, he accidentally leads his friend Dagg and a warrior named Tek through a series of dangers, culminating in a battle with a deadly tle="Wyvern" style="color: rgb(11, 0, 128); background-image: none; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 19.200000762939453px; text-align: start; ">wyvern, the hated enemy of the unicorns.

and  basically anything and everything from David Clement-Davies

Fire Bringer

In a Scotland beset by Norse invaders, the deer--the Herla--are fighting their own war. A tyrannical new lord of the herd has ended the old way, the yearly play of antlers that ensured a change of leadership. At his command is a corps of young stags, scars on their brows and antlers sharpened for the kill, whose mission is complete dominion over the animal world. But Herla lore promises a hero--a fawn with a strange birthmark whose unique bond with all creatures, including man, will ignite an epic battle and free the Herla forever.

The Sight

In the shadow of an abandoned castle, a wolf pack seeks shelter. the she-wolf 's pups will not be able to survive the harsh transylvanian winter. And they are being stalked by a lone wolf, Morgra, possessed of a mysterious and terrifying power known as the sight. Morgra knows that one of the pups born beneath the castle holds a key to power even stronger than her own?power that could give her control of this world and the next. but the pack she hunts will do anything to protect their own, even if it means setting in motion a battle that will involve all of nature, including the creature the wolves fear the most?Man.

^ that one is rather sad... but has a part 2
the story of the brother Fell

So technically there are four books to the series not three? Since there is a part two for The Sight?
Or you meant a part two in The Sight?

Alright, I already told you that the books I'd highly recommend are rated 4-5 stars on Goodreads, but you told me to post this tidbit.

Try Sorta Like A Rockstar by Matthew Quick.

Oh.  And these are also Christian-based:
A Katie Parker Production series by Jenny B. Jones
I'm SO ... series by Jenny B. Jones

I think you'd really like them.  <3

I agree with Broken on the Patricia Cornwell books, they are REALLY good.

You should also check out a bunch of James Patterson books...There are tons of books he wrote that are about Detective Alex Cross which you should check out...

uhm...Julie of the Wolves (which I THINK has 2-parts..it's either 2 or 3 parts)

The Dragonslayer's Apprentice by David Calder

uhm....as for Historical Fiction....I know of a book I plan on reading myself called 'Killing Lincoln' by Bill O'Reily (I don't know if I spelled his name right X3)
