I think you mean Wacom. And if we're talking about Wacom than you should get a Bamboo. It's the one I have and it is a good tablet for beginners.

If you get the Bamboo "Fun" version it usually comes with some basic digital painting/photo editing software. (For example mine came with Photoshop Elements 5.0, Corel Painter Essentials 3 and some other thingy.)

A Graphire4 would be a good tablet too, they're the ones my graphic design clas.s uses.

Bamboo's easier to obtain. Graphire4's are a bit older and would be harder to find. The bamboo fun would also enable you to use your fingers as well as the pen.

If you plan on using your tablet "full time" if you will, I would highly recomend investing in a Wacom Intuos tablet. Like all proffesional grade art supplies, they're very expensive. However, it's worth every dollar. The quality is the best I've ever seen and it's very easy to use. Not to mention the bundle deals that come with them are great too.

However, if you're trying out a tablet for the first time I would stick with getting a Bamboo tablet of some sort. Just to test the waters. y'know? c:

I've seen too many people get a tablet and then give up on it simply because they didn't like the transition from paper and pencil to the tablet pen.

Many people buy a tablet without even knowing how to use any software D<

Please tell me you know how to use photoshop and stugg like that nono. I used a mouse on photoshop for 3 years before getting a tablet. Then I got a cheap chinese tablet (now I have an intuos4). However, the quality of your art is not a direct result of the quality of the tablet. The hands do the work, not the tools. If you've got a fine hand, you can harvest the power of your fancy tablet. If you're not skilled enough you will not be able to porduce any higher quality work with an intuos4 than with a cheap chinese one.

Stuff like this came out of that cheap chinese tablet:

One thing I will tell you is that when you do get your tablet. DO NOT just just the tablet and throw the pencil and paper out of the window. It's not good to decide on your specialised media when you're still young and should be experimenting. Digital art is 1337 but don't let that temptation of being 1337 make you think that other mediums are not as good.
