Welcome to the Experimental Gardens.

Here many strange and wondrous forms of new life can be found as the resident scientists conduct their experiments.
Eager to fund new experiments, seeds of stabilized species have been put on sale.
Visitors are politely encouraged to explore the array of lush flora and examine the seeds on offer when they become available.

Important information.

Even when a species has been stabilized it may take the scientists a little while to splice pleasing pallets for the creatures. These scientists want to share the joy of their creatures with everyone, so they limit people to one seed per batch.

The extremely fertile soil allows for seeds to hatch immediately after planted. A seed will be planted with aid from an available scientist once purchased.

Different species have different grow rates. Some take a day to mature while others may take a week. If you wish to grow your creature immediately Fertilizer Pellets have been created for this reason.

To encourage the expansion of  the new species there are items available to help grow and pollinate the creatures. Creatures of the same gender or of different species are unable to reproduce unaided.
A method is currently being researched for inter-species and same gender reproduction, but the scientists require time to conduct further experimentation.

Owners may breed their own creatures or with the creature of another owner, with their permission.

1-4 seeds will come out of a breeding.  One seed will always be fertile, but there is a chance that with multiple seeds there may be duds.
These duds can be returned to the scientists to be turned into fertilizer pellets.

Insects choose how they interact with your creature. Some placements may differ from creature to creature.

You may load up as many bugs on creature as you like. Insects love company. Though some creatures may not be too fond of all the attention or may even snack on a bug if it suits their tastes.

You may buy items and seeds for other people, but only the owners can use items on their creatures.

BRED SEEDS
There are a few things you can do when a fertile seed is created.
1. You may plant it immediately
2. You may store it in your inventory
3. Give it to another user
4. Donate it to the scientists to further their research, which in turn will help create new species. Donated eggs may be resold (with 50% of the profit returning to the owner) or may be used for future contests! It is up to the owner of the egg to decide what happens.

Questions are welcomed and encouraged at any time.

Seed Stand

A squat, wooden stand is placed next to the garden. There appears to be many useful items for sale.

Honey Bee // Apis mellifera
10m
On the left side of the table rest several containers of buzzing honey bees.
These will be useful for pollinating your creatures.
They are also appear to be very friendly and may enjoy the company of a creature.
There are no bees left for sale

Cabbage Butterfly//Pieris rapae
 2m
On the left side of the table next to the bees are several piles of containers filled with butterflies.
Their innocent nature makes your heart melt. They are very friendly and curious and would make a good friend for a creature.
It is suggested you not pair one with a Cottonsnap however.

They currently come in 6 colours:
Blueberry, Mint, Grape, Cream, Lavendar and Strawberry.

There are currently too many fluttering around to count, there seem to be enough to go around.

Ladybugs:2m
A fairly common insect found around the garden, but seeing them still brings a smile to your face. They are small and gentle and enjoy exploring new areas.
They make great friends for those who love to wander.
There are currently 4 colours: Black, Red, Pink and Yellow.
There are currently too many crawling around to count, there seem to be enough to go around.

Fireflies:2m
These delicate little bugs love to dance in grassy fields and forests, but are more than happy to light up the night for any new friends they make.
There are currently 4 colours: Blue, Orange, Red, Yellow, Green, purple
There are currently too many blinking lights to count, there seem to be enough to go around.

Dragonflies:5m
You're surprised to see 2 colourful dragonflies darting around in jars. They're pretty hard to find and catch! But don't worry about them flying away, these ones seem eager to make a new friend.
There are currently 2 for sale.

Fertilizer Pellet: 5m
On the right side of the table sits a jar filled with marble sized pellets. They have an enticing aroma and appear to be loaded with everything a young plant needs to grow big and strong.
Feeding one of these to a young creature will surely give it a growth spurt.

There are currently too many in the jar to count, there seem to be enough to go around.

Magic Beans // Hocus Pocus Benus
30m
These mysterious beans have been genetically altered to create a customized look for any stabilized species. They involve complicated sciences and are more expensive than normal seeds.

There are no more beans for sale.

There are empty jars and trays on the table as well. Looks like there may be more items here soon. You will need to check back another time though.

Species Discovered

Currently the scientists have created one species. More will come as research is progressed and funded.

Cottonsnap
Molis Maxillam
Adult Length: 22cm- 45cm
Adult Weight: 400g -2500g

Part reptile, part cotton ball, these creatures are oddly adorable. Do not let their floofiness fool you though; cottonsnaps can give a nasty bite if not careful. However once properly bonded with, a cottonsnap will not nip their owner. They may become aggressive to those who approach the human they have bonded with.
They love to snack on red fruits, grasshoppers and butterflies.
Cottonsnaps take 2 days to mature.

Tiger Lily
Lilium Felis
Adult length: 60cm - 130 cm
Adult weight: 2.7kg- 9kg
These floral felines are bound to be a delight to any gardener or cat person. Their coats are luxurious and soft and their petals comes in a wide variety of bright colours. They often have a lovely floral or fruity scent. They are however fairly solitary and don't care too much for company, but once bonded to a tiger lily will delight in curling up beside you.
They seem to really like the taste of flowers, Fireflies and dragonflies.
Tiger Lilies take 5 days to mature.

A Tray of Seeds

A scientist exits the building out back carrying a tray of small, colourful seeds.
She places them in the center of the seed stall.

Each seed costs 10m and will be planted immediately upon purchase.

The seeds have been claimed.

As the Seeds are claimed the new owners are brought to patches of soil to plant the seeds.

Godric places the small green seed into a patch of earth. Not too long after the soil starts to shift and a little reptilian face peeks out.
A healthy female pops out of the ground. She seems very energetic.
A Honey bee and Pellet have also been added to your inventory.

Kermit places the small pink and yellow seed into a patch of earth. Not too long after the soil starts to shift and a little reptilian face peeks out.
A happy and Robust male shrugs the dirt off of himself as he leaves the soil. He smells of peaches.
A Honey bee and Pellet have also been added to your inventory.

Guzma places the small chocolatey seed into a patch of earth. Not too long after the soil starts to shift and a little reptilian face peeks out.
A  grumpy, but otherwise healthy female digs herself out of the ground. She seems content snapping at anything that dares to fly near her.
A Honey bee and Pellet have also been added to your inventory.

When someone is special to you, hold on to them for as long as you can. You never know when the day you have is your last.

Guzma hands a pellet to the small brown cottonsnap.
It gobbles it up greedily. Nothing seems to happen for a moment, then in a grand poof the little cottonsnap grows to full size.
Your smol anger poof is now a bigger smol anger poof.

Godric hands a pellet to the small green cottonsnap.
It sniffs at the pellet and eats it in one chomp. Nothing seems to happen for a moment, then in a grand poof the little cottonsnap grows to full size.

You also decide to open the box the bee is housed in. It flies out and buzzes over to the cottonsnap. They look at each other curiously before the honey bee decides she wishes to have a bit of a closer look.

They seem deep in conversation.

Kermit hands a pellet to Wheat.
He gently takes the pellet from your hand. Nothing seems to happen for a moment, then in a grand poof the little cottonsnap grows to full size.

Guzma decides to open the box the bee is housed in. It flies out and buzzes over to Happy. The cotton snap takes a nip at the buzzing creature, but the bee is too quick.

The little bee still has hope of friendship, but decides to keep her distance from Happy's mouth.
