Total Number of Patches :: 27
Let's aim for 36!
Our quilt is currently 5x5 patches with 2 remainders.
July 17 is the deadline!
Welcome to quiLt.
quiLt is a Res Community project created with the purpose of gathering well wishes for one of our members, SoulyTer, AKA "L". She's currently very ill, and Mugiwara and I want to do something extremely special for her to help speed her recovery. And we want to include you.
ALL of you.
Our goal is to create a square quilt composed of as many square images as we can compile. Each of these images will be created, personalized and signed by a unique member of Rescreatu - one patch per person. On July 17, I will take all of our gathered images, resize them, and put them together, creating one big image with all of our well wishes for L.
Think of it as a giant, elaborate "Get Well" card for one of our best friends.

If you would like to make a patch for quiLt, here's how.
• You may work on your patch canvas at any size, but it must be square. That means that the height must be the same value as the width. The end result will be a very big image, probably, so the patch that you send me should not be less than 200px by 200px. Keep in mind that when all of our images are put together, they may be resized to fit into the quilt pattern.
• The content of your patch MUST include a "get well" message. This can consist of simply the words "Get well soon", or a hand- or computer-drawn image, or a picture you find off google and customize. If the "get well" message is not clear or obvious, your patch will not be included in the quiLt. • Your Rescreatu username must be visibly signed somewhere on your patch.
• Be original. You don't have to be a magnificent artist or a wonderful poet, but your patch has to be original. This means that you cannot use someone else's artwork or writing. Any patch found to be theft or plagiarism will not be included, and you will be reported to the Res Staff because I hate art thieves and plagiarists.
• Obviously, any patch with content that does not comply with Rescreatu's rules will not be included.
• Once your patch is finished, send an RMail to me (Riyo) with the URL address of your image, or email it to me in an attachment using this address: riyo_yukai (at) hotmail (dot) com. DO NOT post it on this thread. L may learn about quiLt before it's finished, but the end result will be a surprise.
• The deadline is July 17. Don't go all-out on your patch if you don't think you will be able to make the deadline. Simple is good.
• Have fun! This is being done for a really good person, so it should not be a grudging obligation, it should be fun and personal.
. : frequentLy asked questions : .
Q.: Who is SoulyTer?
A.: SoulyTer, also known as L, is a long-time member of Rescreatu. She is a wonderfully witty and hilarious young woman, and she loves Death Note. She is always willing to help out her friends, and has no problem cheering people up. It's time we did something for her.
Q.: How do I make my patch?
A.: You can make your patch by drawing or writing a message with real traditional media (pencil/graphite, watercolor, colored pencils, etc) and scanning it in. You can also use digital art programs such as Paint, openCanvas, Photoshop, etc.
Q.: I need ideas, what should I put on my patch?
A.: Anything that you think would cheer her up and make her feel better. Even just the words "Get well soon" is okay. Keep in mind her interests: Death Note ( L ), strawberries, sweets, liyures (especially black liyures), music, pandas (especially red pandas), the ocean, kitties, etc.
Q.: How do I upload my patch to the internet?
A.: tinypic.com or photobucket.com are free image-uploading websites that you can use. You can also use deviantART or various other art websites. If you don't want to upload it to the internet, or if you're having trouble, you can send your patch to me in an email-attachment. My email is riyo_yukai (at) hotmail (dot) com.
Q.: How should I submit my patch to quiLt?
A.: Send an RMail to me (Riyo) with the URL address of your image, or use the email listed above to send it in an attachment. DO NOT post it on this thread. L may learn about quiLt before it's finished, but the end result will be a surprise.
Q.: I want to make more of these, how many patches can I make?
A.: For now you can make one. If we find we have an uneven amount near the end, we'll allow users to submit more than one.
Q.: What's in it for me?
A.: For making a patch for L's quiLt, you get a warm, fuzzy feeling of satisfaction, and the knowledge that you've done a good deed for a good person in need. And who knows, maybe our collective wishes really will speed L's recovery.
