i would really like to give digital art a try but i don't have a tablet or a program to colour (except for paint, but i really don't like paint cause it turns out so pixelated) so if you could give me a few program ideas and tell me a little about them that would be great (i would like a free download one). i would be drawing my pictures on paper first then scanning them onto my computer after outlining it with my black pen. I would just like to give colouring a go is all.

I like drawing wolves. Ask me if I’m up to drawing you one. \r\n\r\n\r\n

I personally like Paint.NET. c: It's similar to Paint in look and layout, but it also has a lot more options and capabilities to offer.

It can be found here if you wanna take a look.

There's that dA muro thinig but I'm not sure if you can load scanned images onto it.

There's also GIMP, it's similar to photoshop.

I don't have a tablet either xD [Lol, hi-5] I recommend Paint Tool Sai. It has most basic programs you need to colour a drawing. I find colour picking & the pen tool there, easy to use. The downside of the program, is that it doesn't have a 'dodge/burn tool' , or a 'font' tool ; etc. I've tried gimp too ;), it has more programs to use then Paint tool sai, but i find colouring in PTS easier (my opinion). You'll just have to experiment to see which one suits you more :D. Links are below ~

(Click for paint tool sai)

(Click for gimp)

Well, I draw in photoshop with a tablet, and I find it pretty easy to use. However, if you don't have a tablet it would probably make it a lot harder. Coloring in Photoshop looks pretty good, but it's not the best. PTS coloring usually looks really good, but I don't have it so I don't really know. Good luck finding a drawing program!

I've used both Aviary.com and Sumopaint.com, out of those two I would recommend sumopaint.

Oakakis (or whatever they're called) are cool. c: They're browser based and I think better than paint... I don't have a Windows so I can't remember the last time I used Paint. The only other programs I've used are Flash, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Flash is what some animated cartoons you see on TV are made of (i think My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic, was made with Flash?). Illustrator is cool because it has the same smooth lines. And of course Photoshop is most versatile youll ever get!

But yeah Oakaki is the only one of those I know is free.

Paint tool SAI is nice, but you have to pay after you've finished the trial version.

Photoshop you can get discounted if you're a student.

Paint.NET and Gimp are also good.
