Down, but not out! Instead of redoing the Drindians as I originally planned to do, I decided to do my own pet for the application instead. This is an adult Rosenel, a deer-like creature living on the mountainous volcanoes of Reiflem.

Could you explain what you mean by funky? o: The head is supposed to look a bit too large for the body, if that's what you mean. If it was smaller, the eye wouldn't show up well when it's downsized. c: I don't mind crits, though, so no worries!

Well,as i said the front legs of the creature seem to go into perspective and all farther away into the picture,while the head just seems sticking out from its side,like somebody ran over it and busted its neck xD It would probably make a bit more sense if the creatures right front leg would be a bit more to the side of the head and facing it as well aaand maybe appear closer too ..or something. Im sorry,im not good at explaining,but i hope tis understandable |

Aside from the neck/head that Flasherz pointed out, something about the legs doesn't look right. I can't exactly place my finger on what it is, but the hooves don't look right. They have more of a bend to them. I can't really explain what I mean and I'm no good at drawing horses myself, but here's some pics. The right front leg also looks odd. I think it's because you're working with the angle, but it almost looks like the leg is bending outward instead of moving forward. But I think it's just the perspective you have and it might just be my eyes playing with me.
Hopefully that makes sense? Aside from that, your shading is lovely! Wonderful job!

I can see why you would think that, and both of those things are ~kind of~ intentional. I think the lifted hoof in particularly seems off because they originally weren't supposed to be horse-like or deer-like hooves. It was supposed to be more... stylized-ish? With the legs being very slim and the hooves being quite small and dainty as well. And the leg is supposed to look kind of like its turning with the head. However, I know because of things, those errors are exaggerated and I can't justify them. I can only explain why and keep them in mind for next time.

That diagram of the horse's foot! I have that book! xD Okay, I noticed you drew the horse in perspective... and noticed it was a bit off at some parts. I've never used perspective in artistic pieces before and tried relining yours. 
Okey dokes, I first figured out where your vanishing point was by projecting the feet on the left side. Then I completed the thing so that I've got the basic frame for one point perspective. It was so friggin' hard and I just gave up. But yeah, perspective's hard and the head sort of went below the ground xD Most people get away with having perspective all muddled up and it looks good anyway xD

Actually, Ping, the Rosenel's neck is supposed to be turned to the side, not forward. I know it's still kind of off anyway. ^^; Thanks for the crit!

Okay, a few things. Here's a small update on Tacos. I'm kind of "ehhh" on it, which is why progress is slow. Rosenel bb!! >w< Click on it to see the full version again, though it's only really twice as big, so there's not a lot of difference. And here's the adosolent, in sketch form. This way I can actually take critiques into consideration before I finish it like I did with the adult and baby. :B Again, click for full!

bb is soo cute ^.^ One critique on the adult, since the ears are black and part of the neck is black, you kinda can't see them at all. Which sucks cuz I think they are an awesome part of the design. |
