Yeh. I figure it's about time I made one of these. I keep wanting to show you guys my stuff but have had nowhere to put it. x3
So. I'll probably be using this for just. All the little doodles I do in my sketchbook. And maybe the big stuff too. If I ever get around to taking pictures of my bigger works. xD

Anatomy practice aweee yah.
Because I'm really terrible at drawing dudes from memory. At least fit dudes.
Heavy ones though? I'm all over that, man. I'll put 'em in a fancy business suit, and they'll look so sharp.
I.. yah I keep drawing less-than-attractive dudes in suits for my class projects.
It's just so fun. 8(
Okay anyway.
Normally I wouldn't be referencing so heavily from a photo like this, but.. well, I'm not particularly in high stock of menfolk around here. So I pretty much don't have many other options.

So I've been on a huge Yoshilisk-drawing binge for the past couple of weeks.
It.. it isn't bad to be obsessed with your own character, is it? xD
Also, no more jpeg artifacts whoo. |D I found out that the full version of this app I'm using supports other, better-quality filetypes, so I went ahead and bought it. Best five dollars.

Hi Yoshi, awesome art you have here. I reaaaally love the stylization on that Otachie. Good job!
Nice Aradia too. I dunno what it is about her but I like drawing her too.

This was kind of a more serious effort on the shading. P: I really need to get used to doing real work with the whole digital thing. I've actually tried drawing some guys on my iPad so I don't have to fire up the scanner but it's just like ohman how do I drew serious things on this they all turn out to be cartoons???
But yah. This is Atria. One of my very first roleplay characters. I've neglected her for way too long, but I guess at least lately she's been getting a little more attention in my drawings. c: |

I have trouble with serious stuff too. An artist I admire once said that you should draw things you like while also studying, so as long as it's not just doodles you should be okay.
I really like how smooth the shading is. It's smooth like cell-shading (a technique foreign to me eee) but it still has a painterly style to it which I like very much. =) I think you have a pretty good handle on shadows and light source. Even your not so serious drawings show that you're paying attention to it.

Yeh, I bet the whole painterly thing is because we've been doing acrylics in painting class for the past month. P: I feel like acrylic and digital painting are just so similar, and I kind of treat them the same.
Unfortunately that means it feels really weird picking colors instead of mixing them, so I end up feeling like my digital colors are less interesting than they could be since I can't think of it as adding colors together.. But then it helps a lot too with knowing how to lay color down I guess?
Man, I don't even know what I'd do if I couldn't compare it to actual painting. I've tried shading like it's a drawing a couple times and it was just like gosh this is not working.
Maybe that's why when I borrowed my sister's tablet in 2009 everything just felt wrong. o:
