Okay, I know this sounds wierd, but I've been waiting in every single Animal Ark book and I don't think James and Mandy have kissed. (Told you, and no, I'm not a kid) So, I'm going to make it myself. Feel free to tell me if something's wrong.
"Oh my gosh!" Mandy's hands fell to her mouth. A dog laid at her feet. A woman in flashy clothes stepped out of the car that had hit the dog. "I'm so sorry!" She cried, holding a handcercheif to her nose. "I'll go and get dad." Mandy stood up, and nodded at James. Stay here in case there's a problem."
Mandy bolted around the corner, panting. Mandy ran inside the house. Jean knox, the reseptioist, sat with a coffee cup glued to her lips. "What's wrong, kiddo?" She asked as Mandy screetched into the room.
"Where's dad?"
"In the house, why?"
Mandy didn't answer the question. She zoomed into the house and called for her dad. "Where's the fire?" Dr.Adam poked his head out the door, a sloppy grin on his face. "A dog's been hit by a car!"
Dr.Adam examined the dog. He looked up at Mandy, his eyes soft. "First, we'll track down the owner, then, we have to put him down."
"No!" Mandy screamed. Just then, a man in a green tweed suit ran around the corner of the street. "Corn!" He said, rushing to the dog. Dr.Adam looked at 'The corn man'. "Are you this dogs owner?" He asked. "Y-Yes, why?"
"We're going to have to put him down."
The 'corn man', who's real name was Edward, sat in the clinic waiting room, crying. "I'm sorry." Dr.Emily said, patting him on the back.
A few days after the run-in with the dog and car, Mandy sat in her seat, bored out of her mind. She listened to the teacher as she talked about the lesson. Mandy looked at the clock. Come on, bell, ring! She tried to send it a tele-pathic message. The bell rang a mintue later, and Mandy vaulted from her seat.
Mandy walked home, James at her side. They planned to help out at animal Ark for a bit, then go to the park.
James stopped in mid-walk. "Whats wrong James?" Mandy asked. "Cat got your feet?" Mandy waited for James to at least make a little laughter about the lame joke. "I-I- ave something to tell you." James pushed his hands in his pockets. "What's wrong with you today?" Mandy stared at James suspitiosly.
"Just come here." Mandy stepped forward to stand face to face with James. "Mandy, I-" He broke off. Mandy felt Jame's lips brush against hers, and linger past her cheek. Mandy instantly took a step back. "uh-" James spluttered. He looked away and started running madly the other direction. "James! Wait!"
