Chapter 3
When she exited something that looked like a castle, creature that looks similar to one that served Damon, gave her big bag in which it said is everything she needs. Castle was high up in hill and from there she could all neighborhood. All around castle there’s a thick forest with four roads that lead each their own way. One on north leads to sea, on south to small village, on east to big city, but on west down to river. She didn’t know exactly were to go so she first checked what did Damon put in this bag.
When she opened it she saw that there were other small bags sorted inside big one. There were 7 of them total. In first one there was little bit food: fruits, meat and bread. In second there were 3 bottles of water. In third there was sleeping bag, in fourth medical supplies, in fifth things needed to get fireplace started. Sixth bag was full of money and a little note that explained how much worth is each piece. In seventh there was book in which all creatures of Abyss were described and also few notes. Agafi took one out and read it carefully. “Your house is in Elf city which you can see on east from castle, Moonshine street, house number 13. Before going in city put on robe. When you get in city go into first house on right. There you will meet old woman. Give her red note I wrapped with other ones. She will tell you what to do next.”
Agafi looked in bag to find the robe. It was in eighth bag which she didn’t notice before. It had few pieces of clothes and jewelry in it. Agafi ignored all the beautiful stones and put on black robe. She quickly packed all things back into bag and started walking towards Elf city. Going was easy but scary since road led through forest. Few times she thought that something was watching her from behind but when she turned back there was nothing.
After about 20 minutes of walking through forest, she finally reached Elf city. It was almost right next to forest. City looked very old fashioned but beautiful and somehow majestic. Agafi looked with amazement at castle like houses. She didn’t forget what Damon said in note and walked into first house to the right. It was small and different from all the other houses in city but she couldn’t say that it looked bad. Actually it was kind of comfortable and in nice warm colors.
Agafi hesitated a little, but then took deep breath and knocked the door. Soon door was opened by small-sized old wrinkly woman. She looked kind of angry to be troubled and she asked Agafi in annoyed tone:
- What do you want? – Agafi didn’t like the tone of woman but she had to do as Damon said if she wanted to live. She took out red note and handed it to old woman.
- Please, read this! – granny at first looked at girl with intense gaze, then took the note and quickly read it. After reading it her ex[injection]pression changed to shocked one. She quickly grabbed Agafi and tried to pull her inside.
- Come inside! Quick! – Agafi didn’t resist and soon she felt warm air of house. It was small and not too spacey inside but it sure was warm. Old granny looked at her with unbelieving look.
- Please, take off your robe. – Agafi did as she said. When she took robe down, granny’s eyes grew even bigger then they already were. She circled around Agafi and looked at her from all possible angles. After 5 minutes of investigating old woman finally spoke:
- Without a doubt you really are a human. What a lucky day I have! How interesting! I’m finally able to see a real human. Tell me, girl, how did you get to this world?
- Through wormhole. It sucked me and my classmates in.
- Wormhole you say? And classmates? Does that mean that there are more humans in this world now? – granny’s excitement grew with each second.
- Yes, I guess there are, but I don’t know were exactly are they, - for a while everything was silent. Granny looked like she was thinking about something hard. Then she jumped up so fast that Agafi almost fell on her back.
- Okay, I’m going to help you, but you will tell me everything you know about your world! – Agafi was shocked of granny’s requests. She knows quite a lot about Earth even though she is sure that’s not even one third of it all.
- Everything?! But that will take like forever! – granny didn’t mind Agafi’s shock and just continued peacefully.
- That’s okay, we got time. You will tell while I train you. But now I shall lead you to your house. It’s not too far from here, - Agafi only now realized that doesn’t know old woman’s name.
- What’s your name, granma? – granny’s face got red and she yelled loud.
- Never call me granma again!!! I’m only 327 years young, - Agafi’s shock couldn’t be said in words.
- 327?! How can someone even live that long?! – granny was confused about Agafi’s shock and just answered in light manner.
- That’s not long at all. Well, you are younger then me, but you are atleast 100 years old,- girl didn’t know how to take it, as compliment or insult.
- 100?! No, I’m 17 years old, - now faces switched owners, granny’s face was just as shocking as Agafi’s a second ago.
- 17?! No way! How can someone so young be so smart?! Humans sure are mysterious creatures. You’ll tell me everything later. And my name is Babilia, - Babilia quickly went into other room and returned with some little bottle that had something like powder in it.
- Please bend down a little! – Agafi did what Babilia said and then witch carefully opened bottle, took little bit of powder and rubbed some of it on each ear and the rest of it she blew in Agafi’s face and hair.
- Now, that’s much better. Take a look in mirror, Agafi, - Agafi looked in mirror and didn’t know should she be horrified or impressed. Her hair was now white, eyes were sky blue, skin was even paler then before but ears were pointy.
- What did you do with my hair?! I really liked my hair color you know! – Babilia just chuckled at Agafi’s comment.
- Don’t worry, effect will wear off after few hours and your hair will return to normal. But let us not waste more time. Follow me! – Agafi followed the Babilia further into city. She saw that city was full with human like creatures that had light hair and skin and pointy ears. “Those must be elfs. Babilia must have used the powder just to make me blend in with the crowd,” is what Agafi thought.
They didn’t walk too long, just about 8 minutes before they reached Moonshine street. All houses there looked really beautiful. They were light colored and with little towers on roofs. Soon she saw house number 13. It really wasn’t hard to spot it since it was bigger then all the other houses though it was also light colored. Just before entering gates Babilia turned to face Agafi. Agafi didn’t understand why did she stop.
- Why did you stop?
- Why?! I don’t have the key to house. It must be with you, - “Now when I think about it, I did saw weird key at bottom of bag pack”. Agafi quickly opened her bag and after 5 minutes of digging in stuff, she finally found the key. She inserted key in gate and in easily opened up.
Babilia walked in first and as if she already knew the house, she headed to the backyard of it. Agafi silently followed. She was amazed by what she saw. Everything was so beautiful. There was beautiful fruit garden and lots of flowers and even a fountain at backyard. Agafi completely forgot were she was, threw of her bag and started running around the garden with dare feet. Grass was really soft as if it was a big, fluffy carpet. Agafi saw that all the trees had different kind of fruit in them but none of them were the ones from Earth. She carefully looked around to see at least one fruit similar to ones she knows.
Finally she noticed small tree which was full with plum-like fruit which somehow reminded her of feather. Agafi automatically looked at her palm which had mark of feather on it. But she didn’t think long before she took one of fruit and ate it. Fruit was delicious and the hunger even made it taste better. Babilia shocked yelled at Agafi.
- You crazy girl, do you want to die?! Some of those fruit are poisonous! – At that note Agafi almost chocked up.
- What?! Poisonous?! Who keeps poisonous fruits in their garden?! – Babilia just started at Agafi shocked and after a while sighed.
- I guess humans don’t do that. Luckily for you, fruit you just ate is not poisonous, but next time ask me before you put something in your mouth. Anyway, from tomorrow on I’m going to train you to fight with demons so today you should rest and enjoy yourself because you won’t be able to do that for a while, - this got Agafi curious.
- Why not?
- Because you will have to train hard every day, - once again Agafi couldn’t help but wonder what will Babilia teach her.
- What exactly am I going to train? My mind to remember all monsters weakneses?
- That will come later. At beginning you will train your body because in order to survive in this world you will have to have not only strong mind but also strong body, - Agafi couldn’t say anything before Babilia already walked away from her.
Agafi was good at many things but physical exercises aren’t one of them. She always had trouble at sports lesson which was just once a week. Now she will have to do training 10 times more intense then sports and every day. Agafi already thought that she won’t be able to make it.
All remaining day she explored her house. It was really warm and big. It had 15 bedrooms, giant libray, 2 kitchens, 2 small dining room and one big in which could fit at least 60 people. Agafi chose herself room at third floor. It was bit smaller then others but it was really beautiful.
After washing up Agafi decided to put in wardrobe those few clothes she had with her. But when she opened wardrobe, she saw the most beautiful dresses she had ever seen. She looked over all of them and decided to put one on. It was green and slim with exposed shoulders and knees. Under the dress she noticed matching pair of shoes. Then Agafi looked in her back and took out one of necklaces Damon packed for her. It was silver chain with emerald feather on it. When she looked into mirror she couldn’t recognize herself, she looked like a princess.
Suddenly some voice from behind startled her.
- Wow, green definitely is your color! You even shocked me a little with your beauty! – Agafi turned around and saw Damon sitting in her bed with a smile on his face. Agafi instantly blushed at his comment.
- How…how did you get in here? – Damon laughed a little, stood up and walked really close to Agafi.
- This is my house you know and that dress you’re wearing is also mine…..
- I’m sorry…I’m going to put it right back, - Agafi already wanted to go and undress when Damon grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
- Don’t worry, you are mine as well, meaning you can have this dress and all the other dresses in this house, - Once again Agafi blushed but Damon doesn’t seem to have notice it.
- I hope you will succeed in your mission because it would be a shame to kill such beautiful creature as yourself, - his voice was completely different, it was scary again. After saying that he instantly disappeared but Agafi just stared at place he was second ago. Her face has never been so pale.
