Adam Spinner quickly scuttled away from the screened-in porch carrying his prize. Of course, his name wasn't REALLY Adam Spinner, but that's what he'd told the girl he carried in his arms. She was smiling blissfully up at him, secretly happy that her knight in shining armour had finally arrived.
"We'll be alone together," he murmured to her, lips tantalizingly close to his sweetheart's neck. "Just you and me, until I leave for the winter. This will be our secret, though. According to everyone, you're missing."
The girl's reply, thick with her rolling, tumbling accent, was slightly slurred in her half-slumber.
"My parents will call the detectives on you, Adam," she whispered, still managing to be beautiful in her mussied-up auburn hair and mocha skin, covered barely by her lacey nightgown.
"That'll be alright," he said, smiling inwardly, his long brown hair whipping in the ocean cliff's gales. "I can handle that. But for now, our date awaits."
