I posted them on the Blog because I liked them better than the forums.  People got upset though and didn't like stories on it. -.- I had 8 chapters on it.  Please critique- I am just adding a link to my blog posts because all of my chapters are on it.

I will add the latest chapter- Chapter 9.  Yay...Please don't read it until you've read the rest. :D

Chapter 9- Mother

”Deviled,” Zutana called out as she approached me with Sonikun.

I froze, avoiding contact with the other male Meiko, “Yes, Zutana?”

Everyone grew quiet, seeing the tension between Sonikun and I.

Vissi looked at me with concern, “Dev?”

”Deviled,” Zutana repeated, “Your father has something to say.”

Sonikun grimaced and looked at me; in his eyes I saw looks of pain, sadness, shame, and…unexpected joy? “Deviled, I am sorry. Sometimes I am too closely tied to the olden rumors and ways that I forget that it is your choice. I accept that fact that you will have friends outside of your element. Will you be my son again?” He bowed his head in respect, shocking me- never would I guess the day would come my father would bow to me.

“Yes, I forgive you,” I told him after contemplating, and I, too, bowed my head, “-Father.”

Father smiled at me and a tear fell down his face, “Thank you, my son.”

He ambled over to me in his great, big strides and stood beside me, giving me a light hug. I smiled, I didn’t care that he was not as mean as he used to be. Father always had this kindness- it just took something to call it out. Zutana sat beside Father and stared at me. From behind her wing she took out a small Meiko egg. I stared, Vissi stared. Everyone but Father stared like dummies. Well, Labours wasn’t paying attention. He was arguing with a moth on a fence.

”Deviled,” Zutana said again, and she cradled the egg in her arms, “This is your brother.”

It took me a while to process that. So if that egg was my brother, then… I stared at Sonikun’s face which was all lit up and brightly shining in a smile. Zutana was laughing at our expressions, wrapping her tail protectively around my ‘brother’. She nodded when I gave her another dumbfounded look.

”Mother?” I sputtered stupidly, my jaw hanging open like some broken toy.

Sonikun smiled even more as my Mother leaned on his shoulder, “I thought she was dead as well, Deviled.”

”You see,” Mother began, “Whilst being dragged away, I was able to break free and fly away with your brother…well, we don’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet. We plan to hatch him soon.”

Vissi looked at me jealously, “I’ve always wanted a sibling,” She muttered, and pouted.

”Why didn’t you tell me?” I asked my Mother, already getting used to thinking Zutana as family, “You could have before…”

”Deviled, I looked at your face and knew you were my son. You have your father’s features. Vissi had told me about you-” At this, Vissi blushed next to me and averted her gaze to the ground, “And when I learned your name was Deviled, I remember Sonikun telling me he would call his first son that. I planned to tell you as a surprise after Sonikun knew.”

I was still surprised at the turn of events that had just occurred.

“I’m glad to finally meet you,” Mother told me, her brick eyes shining brightly- probably because of tears of happiness.

Father rested his head on the top of his mate’s and looked the happiest I had seen him in a long time, “Zutana,” He murmured.

So Zutana was my Mother.

I smiled.

“Deviled, may I talk to you?” My Mother asked me, her ex
pression slightly more serious.

Vissi looked at us curiously and I knew by her face that she wanted to know what Mother wanted to say.

”Yes,” I replied.

Once we were both in the field way out of earshot of everyone else- Vissi knew this and kept staring at us with this yearning look. Mother looked at my confused face and laughed. I remembered that she was the one that was against most of the olden ways. Had she somehow found out about my love for Vissi? Crud…Father didn’t know that either! I wondered if he would act worst than Labours had.

”Sonikun understands that your friendship with Vissi is more than you say so,” She said, her eyes crinkled in light amusement, “He knows better now.”

Gah, she reads my mind! A blush flushed across my cheeks and I bit my lip anxiously.

”There is no point in hiding it,” Mother chimed, taking in my response.

I cursed in my head and looked at her, “So…Father doesn’t hate me for loving her?”

”No, he doesn’t. After a long time he has finally realized that elements don’t matter in the world of love. I suppose having our own son go against what he thought was right made him wake up.”

I was silent.

Mother sighed, shaking her mane, “You haven’t told her.”

”…No,” I admitted stupidly.

“Every time someone loves someone, they don’t want to tell them because they’re afraid of rejection or that they’ll ruin a friendship. That’s the story almost every time… Goodness, Deviled- nothing will happen if you don’t tell her,” Mother craned her head and stared directly into my eyes as if she wanted to know everything, “You never know, maybe she loves you back. Vissi could be nervous to ask you as well.”

Moaning, I covered my face with my wings and slumped downwards to avoid her gaze, “Father probably asked you! You don’t know it from my point.”

”Actually, Deviled, I told your Father first. He was too afraid to tell me,” She smiled fondly at the memories, “My willingness to let him know how I felt is what brought me here today.”

How many times today did my jaw drop? “Father was too afraid?” Fear was a word that was rarely used to describe Father- much less afraid.

”Yes,” She confirmed, nodding.

No matter how many points my Mother brought up, I simply REFUSED to tell Vissi. I was stubborn like that. My mind was set- I shall not reveal my secret. God, I’d rather be put into the situation where Mother ended up telling her without me knowing! I was being so cowardly. But as I walked to bask in the shading of the trees surrounding Reeses’ property, I had a feeling everything would work out.

Lol, lotta stuff to read. Or that's just me and my laziness.

I'll read the first two or four chapters for now and tell you what I think. Then I'll read the others later. Sound good? :3

I'm reading the first one and I love it so far. It's a very original idea and it's about Res, too. That's something I don't read very often besides from the books other writer staff members write, but still. x3 I'm not the fastest reader and I'll probably be logging off soon, so I won't get to four right away, but I'll try tonight. Very good job with this story.

I love the Deviled and Vissi couple. I knew Zutana was his mother. It was almost obvious to me. xD

Your a very nice writer, Pet. Talented.

I'm going to make Vissi the one who confesses. =D Most stories have the boy usually the one who says it.  Now, should I make her randomly say I LUFF YOU DEVILED! when they're alone? -sits in thinking corner-
