Cold air brushes up my side sending a cold shiver up my spine. I feel my black and purple pelt slowly floating around my body like a small carpet. My blue eyes squint as I try to see what is up ahead of me but the sun is to bright and it is blinding me. Small breaths of air escape my lungs as i look for the edge of the cliff, my claws gripping it's rocky surface. Suddenly I feel a section of air and I realize I have found the edge. I unfurl my bat-like wings and slowly begin to flap them on the spot. "Ok dusk, you can do this yes you can," I whisper to myself trying to gain some courage to boost my self esteem. As soon as I stop flapping I lunge off the cliff, my body plummets towards the ground. I see mirabilis and myotis screaming at me to flap but I ignore their cries and pleas. I see the world flash before my eyes as I get close to the ground. Just as I am about to slam into the earth and end the life I have chosen I unfurl my wings and glide over the grass. My paws skim the soft blades of grass. I feel a smile slowly creep across my face as I glide. I've done what my parents couldn't do. I did it and survived I think to myself as I glide off into the sunset.
