Finally! I got chapter two up here! Well, you can thank procrastination for the late release of this one. Please read completely before commenting.
Chapter two. The Deadlands.
Zynonia opened one of her eyes with some effort, finding pretty much everything hard to do. She discovered she had been moved to the Deadlands while unconsious and that her right eye had been hurt when she was out. It was swollen shut at the moment.
She took some time to take in her surroundings a little bit. The land around her was blackened with ash and had a m*censored*ive volacanoe in the distance with streams of red-orange lava flowing down it. It was the biggest thing out here and the only thing that stood out in this harsh environment. There was one other feature though. It wasn't quite as obvious, but the Deadlands were known for having no surface water of any kind. Any water spilled out in the Deadlands evaporated quickly or was soaked up by the parched ground.
Zynonia lay where she was for several more minutes, trying to regain feeling in her legs. Eventually, she managed to shove herself up into a standing position, her still somewhat bleeding head hung low. She felt much worse now than she had during her trial. She must have gotten one las beating from the green male after falling unconsious. She should have expected such a thing from one as aggressive as hi. He didn't care how much it hurt her, as long as he had fun doing it.
She groaned, feeling immense pain everywhere. Turning her head slightly, she could see the now horible condition her wings were in. The fingers were brused badly and several were probably broken. The one tough and stretchy leathery skin that streched between those fingers was in worse contdition. They were pretty much gone with shreded ends left at the place where the skin met the fingers. It was quite obvious the king did not want her flying back to his land anytime soon.
She stood there for several moments, waiting for a sudden light headedness to fade and her leg to become steadier, before she lifted her head up higher and searched for any sign of water or civilization. There was absolutely nothing. Just the same charred black landscape with streams of lave flowing here and there. It appeared that she had been placed quite far into the Deadlands. She was actually surpried the king would send his dragons in so far just to be rid of her. He hardly ever did something as stupid as that..... Well, he used to rarely do these stupid things, but ever since he had been nearing his elderly days, he had been getting more and more paranoid. That had lead to her current situation.
Zynonia decided she had better get moving. No reason to stick around and wait for dehydration to get her. Might as well make the best of her time and attempt ot get something done, whether it ended up to be a good or bad idea. She hoped that she was headed in the right direction, the direction that would take her to the border of the Deadlands and to a nice source of water.
I have a feeling that the next chapter will be up soon, so keep a close eye on this page! The next one will also end up being much longer. I know these first two are very short, but really, they were just sort of filler chapters to give you info on what's going on and that sort of stuff....so yeah. O3o
