Chapter One
Love.
What is love?
Is it just between a man and a woman?
Or can two men have those same feelings?
Is it okay to love another man?
...Does it matter what other people think?
Kijuna Mitawashi used to think so...Until he met Aitawa Haina. Then, he fell in love with Aitawa.
Actually, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start at the very very beginning of our tale.
His name was Kijuna Mitawashi and he had just graduated from college and was looking for a place to work. Then, he accidentally ran into another man, knocking a few papers out of his hand.
"Gomen. I wasn't paying attention. I'm sorry." He hurriedly began to pick up the other man's papers. Then, at the last page, their hands met and Kijuna's face lit up in a light blush as he pulled his hand away.
"It's alright. I wasn't paying any attention either." The other man straightened up, his deep, sapphire blue eyes shimmering behind his black hair."I'm Aitawa Haina, by the way. Though it's a rather odd way of meeting someone, it's still nice." He smiled softly.
"..Kijuna Mitawashi." He felt a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth, though he kept it hidden. But, his bright green eyes shimmered as well, showing he was glad someone finally decided he was worth talking to. He flicked his head to the side slightly, as he stood up, his black-streaked, light-red hair having fallen into his eyes.
'What is this feeling?...Why is it that it first comes up now?' He wondered, then shook it off.'I'm probably just paranoid.' His mouth turned up into a light smile at the thought.
"Would you like to go with me to the carnival in town? You seem like you could use a few clowns and a Ferris Wheel in your life." Aitawa smiled, then took hold of his arm gently before moving off towards the carnival, Kijuna blushing lightly, but not putting up any sort of a fight. Instead, he had his head tilted, curious about how he could tell.
"Excuse me, Aitawa....But how can you tell I need the carnival?" Kijuna asked, curiosity flickering in his emerald green eyes.
"The way you tensed when our hands touched." Aitawa replied, looking over, noticing that Kijuna was about a half-inch short than him.
"..Oh. Okay." Then, he was silent until they reached the carnival, his eyes widening."Whoa!" He exclaimed, taking in all the sights, his face lighting up as a young boy's would when he, too, first saw the carnival.
"How about the Ferris Wheel first?" Aitawa asked after a while, the end of his sentence wavering from his light chuckles.
Kijuna nodded quickly, grinning from ear to ear as they made their way over, then sat in the car.
"I knew you'd like it." Aitawa's eyes softened lightly. All was calm until the Ferris wheel stopped, the car jerking around a bit. Kijuna immediately clung to Aitawa's arm, nervously shaking lightly. But, when he finally realized it, his cheeks went red and he let go, not noticing the light pink tinge on Aitawa's cheeks.
Could it be love at first sight?
