Sorren gazed out of the window and sighed. She was going to school in her crappy little car, who kids laughed and threw stones at. She was often teased at school because of her strange car. But then she'd show them what she thought, with a hard punch to the head. That usually made them stop. She had gotten in trouble a various amount of times because she'd get in so many fights with the people who punched back. She was already looking foward to the end of the day. She yawned drowsily and let her heavy eyelids slide close. Her thirteen year old brother, Clint, poked her. She didn't move. Then he took a strand of her long, dirty blonde hair and pulled at it.
"Leeme alone" Sorren grumbled.
"Sorren, we got our chance to sleep, and you obviously didn't take it." Ember, her nine year old little sister whispered.
Sorren opened her eyes and turned around grumpily. Ember gazed at her with big, round, blue eyes. Sorren sighed. She couldn't batter her sister when she looked so innocent. Then her mum turned around and shot a look at Sorren that made Sorren sit up straight and stopped her from glaring at her siblings. But her mum wasn't watching the road. Suddenly there was a squealing of wheels, a huge thump, then a smash.
Sorren and Ember screamed, but their mum and Clint were silent. Sorren grabbed the door handle and yanked open the door. She flew out of it, while Ember, struggling to move from the shock tumbled out, and landed on her head.
"Are you okay?" Sorren asked Ember shakily.
"Oh, sure I am! I have just been in a car crash and I'm perfectly fine!" Ember yelled.
"Calm Down." Sorren whispered through tears. She sat down by a tree stump and looked up at Ember. Her cheeks glistened, as they were stained with tears. "I am going to check on Mum and Clint." Sorren told Ember. Sorren got up and walked over to the car. She peered through the front window and gaped in horror at what she saw.
It was her mum, paler than ever. A tree had smashed through the front window, and gone through her mum's chest. Blood was splattered everywhere, and it truly was a horrific scene. 'What about Clint?' Sorren wondered. She knew he was dead, but she was afraid to look in the window. At last, she forced herself to and she vomited when she looked through the window. It was Clint, but something horrible had happened to him. His seatbelt had obviously locked, and at the end with the huge smash it had a lot of impact and Sorren herself was thrown foward. Clint had been too, at least, he should have been. Because the seatbelt had locked, when he flew foward it had cut a deep gash in his throat and sliced through half his neck. He had died, and flesh and blood was still seeping out of his throat.
Sorren walked back to Ember, she couldn't see much as tears were blurring her view.
"Are they..." Ember trailed off. Sorren nodded. Ember looked down and scraped the ground. Sorren walked over to Ember and sat by her. Ember curled up and moved closer to Sorren. Sorren wrapped her arms around Ember and stared off into the distance. Ember gazed into space as well. Then she looked at the ground again and started writing something. Sorren looked over Ember's shoulder and saw what Ember was writing. It said "I love you Mum and Clint, why did you have to go?" Sorren teared up again and hugged Ember.
