I know, my story is pretty long.  But it's interesting.  Also you can point out my mistakes and what I need to add so I can edit it.  Comments are appreciated too. <3

Ok so here it goes..... :D 

  Moonlight

            I was in my cozy warm bed, dreaming about being able to breathe in water.  I was in the middle of jumping into an ocean until a familiar voice yelled, “Help!” I immediately woke up.  I jumped out of my bed and changed out of my pajamas in a hurry.

            “Coming!” I yelled as I ran down the stairs.  I saw my little sister, Lucy, pointing at a tiny brown spider with eyes wide open shaking.  I was pretty shocked, I thought that it was an emergency since she was screaming like she was dying.

            “Sp-sp- spider!  Help!  A sp-sp-spider!” she yelled.  I stood there and stared at her.  Her eyes were filled with fright and once again she yelled, "Sp-spider!  Help me!  Help!"  I rolled my eyes and walked into the bathroom and got a paper towel.  As I ripped the paper towel off of the roll of paper, she started to yell even louder and I was getting very annoyed.  I walked over to where Lucy was, and I saw Lucy spraying it with her water gun.  The spider fell onto the ground, drowning in the water that dripped of the wall and was squirming, turning, and rolling.

            “Lucy!” I yelled.  “I was going to kill it for you!  Look at the mess you’ve made!” The walls were wet, and the floor had a small puddle with a spider floating in it.  It looked like a wave hit it.  It wasn’t such a bad mess, but it wasn’t pleasant either.  I  glanced at the spider that was now moving slower, probably because it was dying, then I looked at Lucy.  “Oh Lucy, what would we do without you.” I said shaking my head in disappointment.

            She looked at the ground, “But I’m only 6!” she whined as she stomped loudly.  “Will you forgive me Alissa?” she said in a small sweet voice.  She looked at me with an innocent face as if she had done nothing.

            “You shouldn’t be apologizing to me Lucy.  You should be apologizing to mom.” I said.  I moved Lucy away from the wall and the spider and I began to wipe the floor with my paper towel.  I looked at the paper towel to make sure the spider was on it, and fortunately it was. I walked over to the trash can and threw it in the trashcan.  Then I heard someone coming down the stairs.

            “What do you guys want for breakfast?” I heard my mom say as she walked down the stairs.  When she got off the stairs she walked over to us and noticed the wet walls. She stared at the wall that still had water dripping from it and finally said, “Who made this mess?”  I looked at her face and I could tell that she wasn't happy.

“She did it.” Lucy said pointing to me.  “Isn’t Alissa naughty?” she asked.  Then she put her hands on her hips and said, “Say you’re sorry Alissa.”  Then she stared at me, waiting for my response.  I stared at her back and mouthed the words "You little devil."  Then I looked at mom and saw her looking at me as if I really did it.

            “Mom, I did not do it.  It was her!" I said pointing to Lucy.  "Seriously, do you think a 14 year old would be that dumb?"  I crossed my arms and said, "Lucy, admit to mom that you did it."

            Mom closed her eyes shook her head then opened them and looked at Lucy.  “Lucy, you did it didn’t you?” she asked.  “Don’t lie, it only makes the situation worse.”  Lucy looked at the ground and her eyes started to get wet.

            “Fine, I did it.” Lucy said looking at the floor feeling guilty.  “But I had to kill the spider!  It was scary!”  Then she started to cry.  Tears were rushing down her cheek like a waterfall.  She ran over to mom and hugged her while saying, "I didn't mean to do it!  It was an accident!"

            “It’s ok.” Mom said while patting Lucy's back.  Then she walked to the bathroom with Lucy still hugging her and got a paper towel.  She began to wipe the mess.  “Go play something with each other, or find an activity to do.” She said on her knee wiping the floor.  Lucy let go of her and ran to me.

  I yawned, “So what do you want to play?” I asked her as I walked over to my room with Lucy.  I looked around the room and spotted a checker board.  I walked over to the checker board and picked it up.  “Want to play checkers?” I asked her.

            “Sure.” She said nodding her head.  We walked over to the living room and sat down.  We began to set up the checkers board.  I picked up a red piece while she picked up a black piece.  She put all her checkers pieces on the board and started to sort them.  She sorted the last checker piece on the board and said, “Finished!”

            “Just in time, because I finished too.” I said placing my last checker piece on the board.  “So who goes first?” I asked with my hands on my checker piece.

            “Hmmm, can I go first?” she said as she picked up her checker piece, ready to move it.

            “Sure.” I said looking at her anxious face.  Then I looked around and said, “Before you start, let me get something.”  I got up and ran to the kitchen quickly so that I would not keep her waiting.  I opened the cabinet and got a glas.s cup.  I walked over to the fridge and opened it and grabbed the jug of milk.  Then I took the cap off of the jug and poured it into my cup.  I picked the cup up and drank all of the milk.  I put the cup down and ran over to Lucy.  "Ok i'm back." I said.

            “Finally I can start!” She said as she moved her checker piece.  I smiled at her then I stared at the checker board trying to decide where to move my piece.  I finally saw a place to move my piece and placed my piece there.  Lucy picked up the exact same piece she used before and placed it next to mine.

            “Aha!  Gotcha!”  I said as I made my checker piece eat her checker piece.  After I placed my piece I looked up and smiled.  “Now what are you going to do?” I asked her.  Lucy’s face turned as red as an apple.

            “No fair!” she whined.  “I quit!” she said as she sprang up and kicked the checker board.  Then she stomped away angrily with her arms crossed.

            I shook my head.  “Oh Lucy.” I said as I got up and began to head for the kitchen.  When I got to the kitchen I sniffed the air and smelled food.  I looked at my mom and saw her cooking.  “What are you cooking mom?” I asked curiously.

            “Oh I’m cooking chicken soup.  Sound good to you?” she asked as she put chicken into the soup and turned up the heat.

            “Mmmmm, sounds good!” I said looking at the soup.  I walked upstairs then walked over to my room and got a pencil from my pencil cup.  Then I walked over to my printer and grabbed some parer out of it.  I looked at my pencil to see if it was sharpened, and it was.  I walked out of my room and ran downstairs.  When I got downstairs, I walked over to the table and sat down on a chair.

            “What should I draw?” I said to myself.  “Maybe I’ll draw-“ I paused for a moment and looked at my window.  “I’m gonna draw… um….“ I looked at a tree and stared at it for a while.  “That tree.” I said as I picked up my pencil and began to sketch the tree.  As I was sketching the branches, my pencil tip broke off.  “Darn it.” I said as I got up and walked over to the pencil sharpener and sharpened it.  The pencil sharpener made an annoying grumbling noise as I sharpened my pencil.  I took my pencil out and examined it.  “Not sharp enough.” I said as I placed my pencil back into the pencil sharpener and the grumbling noise started again.  What an annoying noise  I thought.  I took it out again and it was nice and sharp.  "Perfect." I said as I began to walk towards the table.  Then I heard Lucy complaining.

            “I’m hungry mom!  I want food!  NOW!” Lucy demanded as she stormed into the kitchen.  She began to stomp around the kitchen and yell, “Food!  Food!  Fooooooood!”

            “Honey be quiet.” My mom said.  “The food will be ready soon so be patient.”  Lucy frowned at mom and walked away.  Before I got to the table Lucy ran to the table and stared at my sketch.

            “What an ugly tree.” She said as she picked up a pencil and scribbled on it.   The tree was ruined.  “Ha ha!  Now your tree is really ugly!  Ha ha!” she said laughing.

            “Hey!  Lucy stop!” I said as I pushed her away.  I pushed the paper to the side and got a new one.  I began to sketch the tree again.  First the trunk, then the branches, the leaves, and the background.  “Finished!” I said cheerfully as I held up my paper proudly to the light coming from the window.  “Needs color though.” I said as walked over to the crayon box and got crayons.  I walked back to the table and began to color.  After a few minutes, I was really finished.  I ran upstairs and entered my room.  I walked over to my drawer and got tape.  I then taped my sketch onto the wall for decoration.  As soon as I left my room, I heard my mom.

            “Foods ready!” Mom yelled.  I closed my door and headed for the stairs.  I hope Lucy doesn't get into my room and destroy my sketch. I thought.

            “Coming!” I yelled as I ran down the stairs.  I sat down and spooned up some noodles from the chicken soup.  Right before I put the spoon in my mouth, Lucy came.

            “Yay, food!” Lucy happily said as she sat down and began to stuff the food into her mouth.  She slurped the soup and spilled it.

            I shook my head. What a messy girl. I thought.  Then I finished the soup and got up.  I picked up my bowl and walked over to the kitchen.  I glanced at Lucy, who was still slurping her food, and then I placed my bowl into the dish washer.  I looked at the window and smiled.  What a beautiful day it is.  I thought.

            I walked over to the balcony door and opened it.  Tyler ran up to me and licked my face.  What a cute dog. I thought as I petted Tyler.  I watched as Tyler ran away.  Then as soon as I looked away, Tyler came running back with a ball in his mouth.  I took the ball out of his mouth and started to play with him.

            After hours of playing it was finally time for bed.  I went back in the house and went upstairs.  Then when I entered my room, I looked at the wall to make sure that my sketch was still there.  I got into my  bed and I was about to shut the curtains, until I noticed something.  There were stars, the sky was dark, insects were trying to get in like usual, but the moon wasn't there.  I stared at the sky in horror and started to look all over the sky, trying to find the moon. “Where’s the moon?  Where’s the moon?” I kept saying to myself while panicking.

            And then the weirdest thing happened.  My window opened on it’s own and the wind was blowing very hard on my face.  I covered my face and suddenly a letter flew into my room.  I grabbed the letter and the window closed.  I opened the letter and began to read it.

                                    It said:

            Say the word “Agtic”

            And you’ll find plain magic

            Say “Agtic esumi”

            And you won’t believe what you see

I stared at the letter blankly.  It didn't make any sense to me.  It's probably just some dumb poem someone made up, or some prank. I thought.  I decided to say the word for fun. I smiled and looked at the letter again. “Agtic esumi!” I yelled out loud for fun. I waited, and nothing happened. “I knew nothing would happen.  It’s just some dumb word someone made up.” I said as I closed my curtains and reached for the lights to turn it off.

Suddenly everything turned black.  I couldn’t breathe either.  I was surrounded by pure darkness, and couldn’t breathe nor move.  I tried to move and find out what was happening.  But I couldn't, it was as if I just died or as if my brain froze and so did I.

Finally, the dark nightmare ended, but I was still confused and I was dizzy.  I looked around, and I realized that I was right under the moon, and for some reason, light was shining on me.  This is weird, how could I be directly under the moon? I wondered.   “What’s going on here!?” I yelled.

“Be prepared young girl.” I heard a voice say.  Then a woman emerged out of the shadows.  Her face was pale and so was her whole body.  She had red eyes, and fangs on her face and she had purple bat wings coming out of her body and she was wearing a black and red dress.  She walked over to me and said, “You said the word and have been transported here.” Then she smiled in a creepy way.  “And now that the moonlight is on you, say that word again.”

“B-but why?” I asked.  I was still confused.  “Why should I say it?” I asked again.  Now I was really confused.

            “Just say it.” The woman said in a stern voice.  She looked angry and she was scary, especially with her fangs and red eyes that seemed to glow.

            “No!” I said.  “I won’t!” then I got up and tried to escape, but the woman grabbed me and put me back under the light.  “What the heck?!  Let me go!” I yelled trying to escape her grasp.

            The woman shook her head.  “I will not let you go until you say it.” Then she grabbed me and said.  “Say it. NOW!”  Her red eyes were now filled with anger, and I noticed blood on her fangs.

            “Fine.” I mumbled.  “Agtic esumi.” I said in a low voice.  “Now can I go?” I asked her impatiently.  i got up and tried to walk away.

            “Say it louder.” She said grabbing me.  Then she put me back under the light.   “If you don’t say it loud enough, it won’t work" she said in a stern voice.

            “Fine I’ll say it louder.” I mumbled unhappily.  “Agtic esumi!” I yelled as loud as I could.  “Now may I go?” I asked.

            “Yes you can.” She said.  And before I walked away she said.  “I’ll do it.” Then everything turned black again and once again I was in that nightmare.

           When I woke up in the middle of the night I was so glad.  “Finally, I’m home.” I said happily.  But I still wondered who that woman was and why I had to say ‘Agtic esumi’.  Then I fell back asleep.

I was awakened from my sleep when Lucy yelled....

            “Wake up!” I heard Lucy scream.  She jumped on me and yelled.  “Wake up Alissa!”

            I stretched and yawned.  “Ok I’m getting up.” I said.  I rubbed my eyes and jumped off my bed.  I pushed Lucy out of my room, and changed out of my pajamas.  Then I walked over to the bathroom and brushed my teeth.  Then I noticed something.  I had wings.  What am I going to do? I wondered. I can’t show these wings to my family or anyone. I thought.  Then my blonde hair changed into white and my eyes turned red.  I had become albino!  I was horrified.

            “Honey breakfast is ready!” my mom yelled.  “Eat it while it’s warm!” she said again.  Oh no, now what will I do? I wondered.

            “What am I gonna do?” I said to myself.  Suddenly, my wings disappeared and my hair and eyes were normal.  Oh good. I thought as I ran down the stairs to the dining room and began to eat.  Then I went upstairs after I finished eating.

            “Want to go outside?” Lucy asked me.  Then she picked up a ball.  “We could play fetch with Tyler.”

            I nodded.  “Sure.” I said as I opened the balcony door and went outside with Lucy.  As soon as the sunlight hit my face, I felt weak.  This is weird.  The light is weakening me.  I thought.

            “Are you ok?” Lucy asked.  “You don’t look ok.  You look weak.  Anything wrong?” she said in a sympathetic voice.

            “Oh nothings wrong.” I said trying to sound happy and cheerful.  “Come on.” I said.  “Let’s play fetch with Tyler.”

            Lucy nodded.  “Ok.” She said as we went up to Tyler.  He barked happily.  Lucy threw the ball and Tyler got it and ran back to us.

            “Ah.. ugh….. ow…” I said.  I was getting very weak.  I ran into the building and felt better.  Then I carelessly bumped into the table and fell into a corner.  I suddenly felt powerful.  Weird.  Light weakens me while darkness powers me up.  And this morning I grew wings and turned albino.  I thought.

            “Are you ok?” my mom asked me.  I nodded and got up.  Then I brushed the dust off of me.

            “I’m alright.” I said as I walked away.  I went upstairs and turned on the TV.  I watched it for a while and got bored so I began to sketch.

                        After the day was over……

            I went into my warm cozy bed and closed my eyes.  Suddenly I felt like I was being twisted and turned and when I opened my eyes I was in the sky, and I had wings, white hair, and red eyes again.  Then I knew what had happened.  The woman had asked me to say the word so that I could have the power of the moon at night, and be weak during the day.  I looked at myself.  Why did she do this to me?  Can't she do it to someone else?  Now i'm stuck like this!  Then I got an idea.  Instead of wondering, I decided to get the answers from her.  Then suddenly, everything turned black.

"What the heck?!" I said out loud.  I looked around, and there was the woman.  There she is. I thought.  I got up and was about to speak until she started talking.

"I read your mind," She began.  "You are wondering why I did this to you, right?  Well.." she paused.

"Well what?" I said.  I don't plan on staying here for the whole night, so she better just tell me the answers so I can get over this.

The woman shook her head.  "You'll have to find the answer on your own."Then she vanished and left behind a note.

"What now?" I said as I picked up the note and began to read it.

It said:

Here, i'll give you a hint.  You'll have to find someone for the answers.

I stared at the note.  Ask someone?  I thought.  But who?  Then a door appeared from nowhere and opened.  I slowly stepped inside.  As I entered I felt a spider web brush against my face.  Ewwwww I thought.

"Who are you?" I heard a man say.  He emerged from a shadow and said, "Oh, you.  The brand-new Moon Vampire."

I was shocked.  "What?!  A Moon Vampire?  What the heck is that?" I said.  He smiled.

"Ah, so you know nothing about what you are.  I'll tell you a bit." He said.  "Ok so we Moon Vampires are special, we drink blood like other vampires, but when we bite a human they either die, or survive.  We only can turn them into vampires by forcing them to say 'Agtic esumi' under the moon."

"Weird.  Any more info?" I asked.  "And anyways, why did that woman turn me into a Moon Vampire in the first place?"

"You have heard enough from me.  If you want more info, go ask someone else.  Also, you shouldn't be asking me why she turned you into a Moon Vampire, ask her." Then he chuckled.  "Also, in order to reach the next person, you'll come across a challenge.  It will be easy, but only if you are persistent.  Now shoo before I lose my patience."

The next person.  I thought while I left the room.  Where could they be?  I looked around, and went outside.  The sky was pitch black, and in front of me was the exact spot where the woman told me to say 'Egtic esumi'.  It was under the moonlight.  Then I spotted a glow.  It was a small green glow.  That might lead to the next person's house.  I thought as I began to head for the small green glow.  I was only a foot away from it.

"WHO ARE YOU!?" Yelled someone's gruff voice.  The monster jumped right in front of me and snarled.  "GO AWAY!" It yelled.  The creature looked just like a wolf, except it was standing.  A werewolf.  I thought.

"You don't scare me." I said as I pushed it out of my path and headed for the green glow.

"DO NOT GO THERE!" It yelled as it jumped on me.  "IF YOU TOUCH THAT GREEN GLOW, YOU WILL BE IN GRAVE DANGER."  I tried to push it off of me, but it wouldn't budge.

"Get off of me!" I yelled, clearly annoyed by it.  "I don't care what danger i'll be in!"

It got off of me and said, "FINE.  BUT IT'S NOT MY FAULT IF..." It paused.  "NEVERMIND."

 Finally.  I thought as I touched the green glow.  Everything went black, like before, and I was transported into a person's house.  I'm not in grave danger.  I thought.  The werewolf was probably lying, or trying to scare me.  Then a woman emerged from the shadows.

"You have probably come here to learn about Moon Vampires, right?  Well I shall explain to you about their powers." she said.  "Moon Vampires are weak during the day, but strong at night.  They have moon-related powers such as glowing like the moon, shooting stars at people, looking human during the day but vampire-like at night, and casting moon-related spells."

"Thanks.  Now i'll have to return to that woman." I said as I began to walk away.  That was easy. I thought.

"I'll transport you there." The woman said as she tied her brown hair into a pony tail.  She looked young, maybe like 18 years old, or 200 with the appearance of an 18 year old.  Then everything turned black and I was transported back to the woman's home.

"You again." She mumbled.  "You want to know why I turned you into a Moon Vampire, am I correct?"  I nodded.  "Ok, so heres the answer.  We need more Moon Vampires.  There, I gave you the answer.  Now shoo."

Why are most Moon Vampires so grumpy?  I wondered.  "Be more specific.  Seriously, tell me the real reason."

The woman looked annoyed.  "Fine.  I sensed that you would have a special power as a Moon Vampire, so I turned you into one.  Now are you happy?" She said.

"Oh.... so thats why." I said as I looked at myself.  Nothing looks special about me.  How could I have a special power?  Then before I could walk away everything turned black.  Not again.... I thought. 

I will make the next chapter on a separate post later.  Stay tuned!

The letter near the end is kind of weird. Make it sound less like an advertisement-- better yet... You could just make the main character find out everything little by little. Make her confront the Moon Vampire who changed her-- ask them why they even made her a Moon Vampire. Drop back and make things even slower [I know it sounds like mission impossible]. Some of the very beginning, I thought, was a bit unneeded. I mean, you get no feel that it's going to branch off into a vampire plot. At first I thought it was going to be some girl's tough life living with the unfair mother or something. ;3 So maybe edit out some of that stuff, get to the real point faster.

You have a place where you say "When the night was over..." Well don't just do that. Do something like "Light pressed on my eyelids as I woke up to Lucy shouting..." etc. Making things a new chapter is a good chance to have little time skips like that as well.

Also, I felt like some of the dialogue felt.. Well, not natural. Be careful of what you make people say. Make sure it would be something you would say in that situation. That brings me to what the main character thinks as well. Would the first thing that pops into your head when you suddenly sprout wings "I wonder why so-and-so didn't notice them. Hmm, I suppose I can't let my family see these..." If it were me, I'd feel faint and maybe even touch them and forget all about my family. I'd be wondering how the heck they got there, if I was going insane, if I had gotten a disease, if I were dreaming.. 

Again, make your main character find things out a little at a time. Don't make her think "Oh it's just what I thought." I wouldn't think that. Draw out the day more when she first gets out into the sunlight. Go through longer parts of the day and give some more drama. Stop and put some detail in. 

But it did interest me. Just a warning: lots and lots of people are making vampire novels and stuff. So be creative and take time to think things out to make it a new refreshing tale. Just my advice. :D 

I also write little things like fantasy and vampire stuff. And sometimes my dialogue isn't natural sounding either. And I do tend to rush a lot as well. I can tell that you're definately writing a unique sort of vampire story, so take time to actually think about it. Think about certain defining characteristics of the Moon Vampires, and make them cool and stuff. :)

Here comes the next chapter! :D

I opened my eyes, and looked around.  I looked at myself to see if I was still Albino.  Thank goodness i'm not.  I thought.  Then I remembered what happened last night.  Moon vampires talking to me, werewolves, and transporting a lot.  I still wondered what kind of special power I had.  The woman told me that she sensed a special power in me, I wonder what power it is?  I wondered.

"Honey, breakfast is ready!" I heard my mom say.  I was under my bed.  The woman must have transported me here.  And I didn't realize it, but I don't need to sleep! I thought.  I looked at the wall to see if my sketch was still there.  Oh good.  It's still there. I thought.  Then I opened the door and left my room.

"Coming!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs.  I walked into the dining room and sat down on a chair.  I smelled the air, but the chicken soup smelled disgusting to me.  I took a bite and it taste horrible so I spit it out.   "Yuck!" I said.  "What did you put in this stuff?" I asked my mom.

"It tastes fine to me." Lucy said.  "Actually, it tastes delicious!" Then she took another bite and said, "Mmmmm...."

"I wasn't talking to you Lucy." I mumbled.  I took another bite and I spit it out again. "Seriously mom, what did you put in this stuff?"

"I put in what I put in before, honey." Mom replied.  "I put in chicken, soup, noodles, and other things you would normally put in chicken soup."

I looked down at my bowl and sniffed the air again.  The soup smells horrible. I thought.  And taste horrible too. My stomach growled and I got off my chair and walked past Lucy.  While I was walking past Lucy, I smelled blood.  It smells so good.... I thought.  Then it hit me.  Wait, I know why the chicken soup smells and tastes horrible and why I think blood smells good!  I'm Moon Vampire, and vampires drink blood.  When they eat other food it tastes horrible.  But how am I supposed to eat? I looked around.  Oh, right.  I have to drink blood.  But, how am I supposed to get it?  If I go outside during the day I get weak, and I don't want to drink blood from my family or else they'll die, or survive although there is a very small chance they'll survive.  I guess i'll have to wait until it gets dark outside, or in other words when day turns to night.  Then I walked slowly up the stairs.

"Can I eat your soup?" Lucy asked.  "I finished my soup and I want more.  Besides, you think the soup is disgusting."

"Fine, but just so you know I got my saliva in there." I replied as I opened my door and lay down on my bed.

"I don't care!" Lucy said as she sat down in my chair and began to eat my soup.  "Mmmmm!" She said again.

"Ok, well enjoy the soup." I said.  I wondered what I should do for the rest of the day.  Then I got an idea.  Moon vampires are powerful in the dark, and that includes shadows.  Maybe I can hold an umbrella over me while I hunt for food.  I thought.

I ran downstairs and grabbed an umbrella and headed for the door.  "Bye mom." I said as I was about to open the door until my mom stopped me.

"Honey, where are you going?  And why need the umbrella?  It's not raining." My mom asked in a confused voice.

"I just need it and i'll be shopping." I said quickly as I opened the door and went outside.  I walked on the path, apparently going nowhere.  Then I spotted a man.  He had brown hair, and was young.  I looked around to make sure no one was looking then I charged at him.  I grabbed him and bit him on his neck and began to drink.  When I was finished, I let go and wiped my mouth.  "Ahhhh.... how refreshing." I said as I headed back towards my house.

Here comes the next chapter! :D

I was laying on my stomach on my bed.  It was almost my bedtime, well at least it was my bedtime before I turned into a Moon Vampire.  I felt a little bad for biting that man this morning.  I looked at the window and noticed that the sun was setting.  Soon it will be night.  I thought.  And thats when i'll turn albino and have wings again, and I will also be able to drink blood again.

"Alissa?  Are you in there?" My mom asked while knocking on my door.  I got off my bed and opened my door.  My mom looked worried.

"So what do you need to say?" I asked my mom.  I looked at the window and it was a bit darker outside than before.  I hope that my mom doesn't talk too long.  If she talks until it turns dark, she'll know my secret.

"I need to talk to you about this morning." My mom said as she sat down on my bed.  I sat down next to her.  "Why did you come home so quick?  Also why'd you need the umbrella?  I asked you already but you refused to answer."

"I wanted the umbrella to-" I paused and thought for a moment.  I better think of a good reason or else she might find out my secret.  "I needed the umbrella to shade myself.  It was hot outside today, and I wanted to stay under the shade while I walked.  You can't take a tree wherever you go, so I used an umbrella for shade."

"Okay, that makes sense.  But you said that you were going shopping.  You came home to quick to be shopping." My mom said.

I looked at the window again.  Oh no, it's getting darker.  I thought.  "Um.... I was going to go shopping until I changed my mind." I lied.

"Oh, no wonder it took so quick.  Sorry if I bothered you, I was just worried about you and wanted to see if anything was wrong." After saying that my mom kissed me on the cheek and left the room.
