Do you know where you are? You're not home, that's for sure, boy.
Why did you touch it? Did you think it was a game? A toy?
Can't you learn to keep your hands to yourself? To not touch other people's things?
It doesn't matter whose it is; be they a farmer or a king,
You don't touch other people's things.

Don't expect a warm welcome, to this land that is not your own.
Don't expect to just appear, and be welcomed into people's homes.
We don't take kindly to curiosity here; Curiosity killed the cat.
You could've just walked by, and left it at that,
But no, curiosity had to kill the cat.

I may add in another verse, but the layout of these verses has gone really, really finicky. xD

Flying... now that is a beautiful topic. :3

I stand on the edge of the cliff-face,
Looking down at the foaming waters and crashing waves,
And even though it makes my heart flutter and race,
I must do it. I must be brave.

Taking a deep breath, I leap forth and spread my wings,
And for the barest of heart-stopping moments I fall,
But I quickly rise, and my heart dances and sings,
I've answered the wind's ancient call.

I dive down low and soar over the ocean,
Dancing just above the foam-topped crests,
My mind and soul filled with happiness and emotion,
No one is better at flying than me; I am the very best.

I swoop up high and skim the clouds,
My aerial dynamics know no match,
I fly through the skies and laugh out loud,
It is a sound of joy, which in the wind is quickly snatched.

Eventually my time is up, and I must return to shore.
I tilt my wings and head back to the cliff to land.
The joy of flight is a joy I shall know forever-more,
And I am certain that as long as I live, I will never know a joy so grand.

Grey

I took one look at you...
And I knew.
Bright eyes, so full of joy and life.
Pearly-white teeth and such a loving smile.
You were laughing almost all of the time.
And I couldn't help but think...
Would you one day be mine?

I took one look at you...
And I knew.
Soft voice, so gentle and so sweet.
Like music to my ears; made my heart beat.
And from the very moment I saw you in the street,
I knew in my heart...
We were fated to meet.

I took the long way home from that day on,
In the hopes I might see you again.
But it pained my heart that for so very long,
The only ones I saw were your giggling friends,
Laughing and joking outside where you worked.

I contemplated just going straight in,
To see exactly what you would say.
But in the end, my head would win,
And I'd walk past, and wait until the next day,
But day after day, for so very long, I never saw you.

I took one look at you...
And I knew.
One day when I took the long way,
As I did every single other day,
Just because I could, and to see what you would say,
You were there.
I remember that moment like yesterday.

I took one look at you...
And I knew.
We laughed, and talked, and laughed some more,
I went to your house and knocked on your door,
And with every move you made, it was at my heart you tore,
Yet I went to you anyway.
Just because I could never go back to as I was before.

I held your hand while we walked,
Just liking the feel of you being mine.
But you held my heart as we talked,
And I connected to you, our fates intertwined.
Yeah, we would be together forever, and we both knew it.

We fell in love every day for years,
Reliving memories in each other's eyes.
With each other, we wiped away all our fears,
Our love held no secrets, no darkness, no lies,
Then one day everything changed, and you started to forget.

You still fell in love with me at first sight,
But to you, first sight happened every day.
And though we fought it with all of our might,
Your memories gradually began to slip away.
Yeah, we were fighting an already-lost fight,
Hoping and praying for some possible way.
When you ended up in hospital, I was told to do right,
But there was still one thing I had to say.
And no one listened at all to my painful plight,
No one cared or had any faith.
One day, you just left... Walked into the light...
You left, and from that day on, my life lost it's light. It became grey.

Heh, my mind started thinking about loss when I was writing the ending. ^ _^" So, I kinda sorta accidentally mixed them. xD I'll write a new one on loss later. xD

Dog; I have no personal experiences with them, and have never studied them in great detail, so it'd be a bit weird for me to try to write about them. :x

Awh. Poor animalls. >.<

Running Blind.

I run, dodging through the undergrowth and leaping over fallen trees,
As from behind myself I hear the pounding of hooves upon the ground.
It seems that this deep in the forest there is not even the lightest of breeze,
But the perfectly still silence is disturbed by snapping, barking hounds.

I run into a river and sprint upstream to make them lose my scent,
But the beasts are determined and follow me despite my efforts.
Even as I run with my heart pounding it is not difficult to guess their intent,
And I berate myself mentally for not staying completely alert.

Finally, though, I reach a dead end as I come to the waterfall,
The churning waters of which mean certain death.
Still, I fight off the hounds, trying to avoid the deadly snap of their jaws,
The horses and their riders finally show up, the dogs are called off and I hold my breath.

I growl at them, and leap forth, even though I know their is no chance left for life.
As my jaws nearly close around the hand of one of the men,
A gunshot rings through the air, tearing through the fur they so greatly admired,
And it seems these hunters have won yet again.

I fall to the floor, my russett fur now dripping crimson red.
I give a small yelp of pain as the hunter leaps down from his horse, picking me up by the scruff.
I dangle in the air, like a doll or a child's play-thing, lifeless and dead.
He pulls from his pocket a knife, holding it next to my neck and looking at me with disgust.
And he slits my throat.

As my blood trickles to the floor,
As my lungs stop breathing,
And as my eyes close,
And as my heart stops beating,
I can't help but wonder one simple, little thing;

Why?
Why take pleasure in needlessly taking a life?
