Becky's first thoughts were...Where the heck am I?
One minute she had been sitting at home, surfing the internet on the laptop that her cousin had bought her for Christmas and thinking about how miserable the weather outside was, and now...
...she was slumped against a tree in one of the most beautiful places she had ever seen. It appeared to be a place consisting mostly of forest, and what an amazing forest it was. The sun shone through the leaves like a golden knife slicing through butter and the air had the most amazing sweet smell to it.
"What the-" Becky began, standing up. She took a step forward and then she almost tripped. What was it? A rock? No, it wasn't. This looked more like...an egg. It was a large and very beautiful egg, patterned in blue and green. Curious, Becky picked it up. It seemed quite warm. Did that mean it would hatch soon?
"I'd hate to see the chicken that laid THIS egg." Becky muttered. Shrugging a little, she continued on, still carrying the bizarre egg.
It was quite a while later, when Becky was nearing the edge of a forest, when she felt something on her back. It was a seemingly gentle impact, so Becky ignored it. It was probably a leaf or something. She was a litle puzzled when the leaf...or whatever it was...clung tightly to her, but Becky paid it no heed. She wanted to explore this bizare place.
Quite some time after that, Becky noticed a stranger not too far away. They were standing with their back to her and they appeared to have what seemed like a parrot perched on their shoulder. As Becky neared, although she had no intention of talking to them, she noticed that this person appeared to be wearing some sort of metallic mask over their heads. Was that a mask? She couldn't tell. And the parrot on their shoulder wasn't a bird. It was like no creature she had ever seen. It looked a little like a green-furrred lemur with impossibly spindly limbs.
"Cool..." Becky whispered. Then she stopped in her tracks as another girl stopped right in front of her. She was grinning from ear to ear.
"Wow! A Vogar egg!" they said, brightly. "And about to hatch, too!" Becky assumed they were talking about the bizarrelt-patterned egg in her hands. Then the other girl gasped.
"Oh my gosh! Is that a Vaspi on your back?" Becky was unsure of what the girl had just said to her. But then she glanced back at whatever was on her back and squealed in surprise; it was a bright blue insect of some kind, with bright red eyes. It was one of the creepiest things she had ever seen. But the creature flew from it's former position and landed on Becky's head, buzzing contentedly.
"Looks like that Vaspi loves you! Why not give it a name?" the other girl asked, excitedly. Becky seemed surprised...but she thought she might as well name the strange insectoid creature.
"I think I'll name him...FlyingLove." Becky said, looking up at the creature apparently known as a Vaspi.
"FllllllyingLlllloveeee..." the Vaspi hummed, in a strange accent. "Tttthanks, Mmmama." The events had drawn the attention of the stranger not far away. They started walking over to the two girls.
"Greetings. I am Kir, and this is my Ivik companion, Phaeda." the stranger said, indicating the strange creature on his shoulder, which squeaked, happily. Becky thought she might as well introduce herself.
"I'm Becky. This little, um...VASPI...is FlyingLove." Becky mumbled, and the Vaspi sitting on her head buzzed a little.
"And I'm Sarah!" the other girl said, cheerfully. "I would introduce you to LightningBlade, my best friend, but he's not here right now." Becky was about to say something when the bizarre egg she was holding began to vibrate violently. The ivik sitting on Kir's shoulder squealed and Kir began staring intently at the egg. Cracks began to appear on the egg's surface. And before Becky could even say WHAT THE HECK...the egg was gone. In it's place was a small, reptilian creature coloured golden and blue.
"Wow! A blonde Vogar! They're pretty rare, you know." Sarah said, cheerfuly. "What willl you name it?"
"OceanSunrise." Becky said, almost without thinking.
"Good name." Kir said, and in an almost inaudible voice, he swiftly added "My clients will be pleased."
"Excuse me?" Becky asked, but as she turned back to Kir...he was gone.
"Kir likes to teleport everywhere. Don;t mind him. He's an alien from Uldavi, anyway." Sarah said. "Hey! How's about we go to Reiflem! There's a teleportation station not far from here! Come on, it'll be fun!" Before Becky could say more, her excitable new friend had grabbed her by the hand and dragged her after her, and FlyingLove and OceanSUnrise came along, too.
