Black Raven

So much depends upon,

A shining black raven,

Who follows the dying,

To guide their soul.

 My Guide

This black bird,

Big and dark,

Lives outside,

In the dark.

It caws loud,

Calling for me,

Beady black eye,

Staring at me,

In the night.

Spreading its wings,

Long and black,

Off the branch,

I can’t see,

In the darkness.

Nights cool winds,

Silent and calm,

Bring it here,

To my room,

In the shadows.

Quietly it lands,

Upon my bed,

Waits for it,

My last breath,

In the blackness.

Leaving my body,

My breath gone,

First I see,

Is the raven,

In the After.

 White Dove

So much depends upon,

A small white Dove,

Who sings a song,

Bringing hope to hearts.

Yes and that's all that matters

Love brings you hope,

Hope that he will love you.

You watch him closely,

And hide when he looks.

You build up your courage,

For Sadies' is coming.

You see him alone,

And you walk towards him.

You give him a shy smile,

Then there's the pause.

Your heart is in your throat,

Butterflies in your stomach.

Then the words spill from your mouth,

Like a geyser shooting out hot water.

You feel as if you can't breathe,

You stand and wait for his answer.

A broad smile covers your face,

As you walk to your next class.

He said yes and that's all that matters.

All alone in the hallow of a tree,

Lay an egg covered in protective leaves,

One day a storm came,

And the wind blew and blew,

The tree being old split in two.

The tree two halves fell to the ground,

One to the left the other to the right,

Out the egg went,

It fell and fell,

And was pushed away by the powerful wind.

The storm weakened then it was gone,

And the egg slowed and came to a stop,

Upon the egg was a crack,

And that crack grew and grew,

Till finally the egg fell into pieces.

In the middle of the egg shell pieces,

Lay a baby snake that didn't look quite right,

Scales and feathers all over,

And a pair of tiny tiny wings,

And it's mouth looked like that of a birds.

The baby opened it's young golden eyes,

And these eyes changed to amber over time,

As it aged and learned and grew,

Its once tiny tiny wings did too,

They now carry it upon that powerful wind.

((I'd love some friendly help and your opinion on my poems. I have a few others that I may post up later.))

The first and third, were they supposed to be based off of William Carlos Williams' poem?

We fell through the ice when we tried not to slip.

Yeah my LA teacher wanted my class to make a "so much depends upon" poem. I made those two.

Well, I really like those two in particular. I like them all, actually. :D
