The bell had rung and I hurried from class. On the way out, I bumped into Jay. "Hey Bird." I snickered. Jay thumped me on the forehead. "You know I hate that nickname, Z-z." Now it was Jay's turn to snicker. I practically leaped onto him. "Bird!" I screeched. "Z-z!" he yelled. Then we fell into a giggling fit. "Hey, wanna come over tomorrow, Zoe?" I nodded. "Sure. I'll ask my parents." Then we walked outside together. "Tomorrow?" he asked. "Tomorrow." I assured him.
I hopped into my sister's beat up blue van and suddenly said, "hey Jane?" She turned to look at me. "Yeah Zoe Zoe?" She said. "How are we the same age and only you have a driver's licence?" Janie shrugged. "No idea. Let's go." She started up the car and we were off. But going down the path, a truck came into view. The driver was obviously drunk and...you already know what happened then.
