I punch in the code and open the door. Stepping into the room, I call for her. "Seventy-one five nine! Where are you?"
I hear a faint whisper and swing around the corner. There she is, curled up into a ball. "What are you doing here?" I ask.
"...Hiding."
I lean against the wall. "What?"
"I'm hiding. They'll find me."
"Look. I dunno what type of 'game' you're playing, but you're not allowed in this room. Leave." I point to the door.
She shakes her head and brings her legs closer to herself. She's scared. But of what? Bah, it doesn't matter anyway. I gesture to the door agan, the annoyance clear on my face.
She puts her head down, as if to hide it between her legs. What, was she intimidated or something? I'm just telling her to get out. She's not even supposed to be in here. I wasn't yelling or anything.
"Leave." I point again and speak more sternly. She is not allowed in this room. "Now."
Suddenly, she stands up and presses me against the wall. "Do. Not. Move. And don't make a sound."
"Hey, what are you-" I try pushing myself off, but she presses me back harder and covers my mouth with her hand.
"What part of 'don't move' do you not understand?" she hisses angrily. "Do NOT."
I try twisting around, but she buries her knee into my back. I bite back a yelp.
She grabs my hand and pulls me off of the wall. "Run."
"Seventy-one fine nine! I refuse to move! What are you doing?" She glares at me and jabs a fist to my gut. I'm knocked off my feet as she hoists me onto her shoulder and begins to run further into the room. I try punching her back, in an attempt to get free, but she just runs faster.
I scowl to myself. This room was a maze, and she was running deeper into it. She takes twists and turns as if she knows where she's going. That's impossible. This room's layout changes with each game. Apparently, she realizes that when she runs into a dead end.
I look back, and realize what she was so scared of.
