Blaze sighed as she walked onto Hammersley, the huge navy boat that was still surrounded in soft, light brown sand, ready to go into the deep, blue sea. She was tired as Savannah, a little 6 year old girl, was crying all night long. Blaze sighed as luckily, her grandparents agreed to take care of her whilst she was off at sea.

While she entered the upper deck of the ship, she looked at Mike and mumbled absentmindedly with exhaustion, “Hey dad....”. As she was very tired, she landed on Mike's chair and dust flew around the upper deck.

“Blaze, remember the rules about calling me dad on board of Hammersley. It is against the navy rules.” Mike reminded her sternly.

Sighing, she asked, "But Why can’t we tell everyone that you are my dad?” Blaze asked. At the same time when she turned her head to Mike, Xo appeared at the door looking shocked.

“I didn’t know Mike had a kid!” Xo whispered softly as she leaned against the cold, white wall in shock. Blaze looked over at Xo's shoulder as Xo gave Blaze a cold glare. "Oh no..." She whispered.

Mike sighed with a hint of annoyance and told Blaze, “Blaze, for god’s sake go and get ready for the boarding party.” Blaze, upon hearing what her father had said to her, replied softly, “Mum was so much nicer until you made her leave...”

He sighed as Blaze headed over to where Buffer was and disappeared. He then wondered, when will Blaze ever forgive me for divorcing with Harmony, her mother and losing her sister, Hannah?

When the boarding party ended, the boat accidently got collided with the boat whom they were trying to board. Blaze lost her balance and fell into the water with a loud splash, hitting the side of her head hard. Blood oozed out of her open wound and she screamed in agony. People around her were calling for help frantically. Blaze thought she was not going to live. She closed her eyes and she heard nothing but silence.

Xo dived into the water instantly into the freezing cold water and searched for Blaze. She went up to the surface and inhaled. Diving again, she lost hope. Is Blaze still alive? Will she live under these circumstances? These were the questions that haunted Xo while diving. The question that make her wince was, What will Mike say?

Mike was watching from the upper deck and was looking at the ocean wide-eyed, expecting to see two heads visible or bobbing above the water. Seconds felt like minutes, minutes felt like hours and hours felt like months. Mike reached his limit. He called to Xo through radio and asked how was the results of the search of Blaze. Though he thought that he could handle the news, never did he expect that his one and only daughter was not found yet over the minutes and was thought to be dead. 

His heart skipped as he jumped into the water after telling Xo to get out, he dived underneath and saw Blaze, he reached out and pulled her to him. Fear shot through him as he carried her back on the Hammersley

“Swain do something...please do something.” Mike said, close to tears and no-one on Hammersley had seen him in tears.

Swain looked shocked, he had never seen his captain cry before but he helped him carry Blaze to the wardroom.

“Blaze will be alright because it isn’t really serious but she will need to get to a hospital.” Swain explained.

Mike looked down at her and said “She is my daughter so do everything you can Swain, please I can’t lose my daughter.”

Sam looked shocked as she looked at X and said “I didn’t know Mike had a kid,”

“I didn’t know either Sam.” Xo said nodding as she looked at the door and Sam said “ I hope she will be okay, she is good at her job.”

Blaze stirred and whimpered as she opened her eyes but to her shock she couldn’t see anything and said “Daddy I can’t see, Daddy I’m scared.”

Mike looked at Swain and said “Why can’t she see?” and Swain frowned as he noticed a stinger mark.

“You got sting by a stinger, that’s the symptom.” Swain said calmly while Blaze held onto Mike in tears.

Swain quickly got some vinegar and put it onto the sting mark and Blaze let out a wail when Swain tried to lift her from Mike’s arms.

“Sam!” wailed Blaze as Swain got out the needle and she began to fight against Swain. Tears rolled down her face.

Sam walked in and said “I’m scared of needles too but it’s for your own good health.”

Mike said as he sat down holding her in his arms, “And hey you lucky duck, you got Swain, me, Sam and even Buffer just walked in with a parrot to look after you.” Trying to lighten up the mood as Buffer sat down with the parrot.

“I’m pregnant Swain, please just make sure my baby doesn’t die.” Blaze suddenly said as she began to cough hard from not enough oxygen.

Mike said "Your what" after what Blaze had just said and he stood there looking shocked and Sam is in shock as well and said to herself "Another pregnancy."

“It’s Ro’s....” Blaze managed to say before Swain put on the mask and Swain glared as he walked out and yelled to Bomber to take care of her.

“I hope Savannah is doing okay.” Sam said and Blaze reached out and grabbed her hand.

“It’s because of Savannah, I don’t want this baby.” She whispered as she looked up at Sam, her brown eyes tired.

Ro walked in and frowned and said “But I don’t want you to give away this baby. I’m the dad so shouldn’t you talk to me first.”

Sam walked out of the room and listened to what they are saying.

“I’m sorry but I don’t want this baby.” Blaze pointed out to Ro.

“SO what, I’m the father don’t I get a say! This is not only your baby! Blaze!” Ro yelled and Blaze flinched at the loudness of his voice.

Sam walked in and sat next to Blaze as she looked at Ro, “If she doesn’t want to go through with it, then it’s her decision.”

Ro walked out and slammed the door and Blaze began to cry as Mike picked her up again. Sam walked to Xo and sighed, “May I talk to you?”

Xo looked up and said “What’s wrong Sam?”

“Everything.” Sam sighed and Xo looked at her, “Wanna talk about it? Is any of this about Savannah?”

Sam said “A bit. Yes.” What Xo and Sam didn’t know, Blaze had came up and was listening in.

“What about Savannah?” Xo asked as she looked at Sam, “Do you think Blaze isn’t doing a good enough job?”

“She is.” Sam said, “I just want my mum right now.” And Xo smiled as she hugged Sam. Blaze looked down as she slid a pic of Savannah into the room before going up to the outer deck and sat down as she stared out.

Sam noticed the pic and said “Where did that come from?” and Xo picked it up and showed Sam, it was a pic of Savannah at her 1 month birthday with a note from Blaze saying, ‘I’m not good enough for Savannah or anyone.’

Blaze arched a little more towards the edge of the boat until she was about to fall off, she stared down at the sea when Nav came out and Nav run to Sam and Xo alarmed.

Sam was looking at the pic of Savannah and she began to get emotional.

“She looks like my Sammy.” Xo said as she hugged Sam and Sam got tears in her eye even though she didn’t know why and X said “Oh Sammy.” As she hugged her.

“Xo, Sam Blaze is going to jump off the ship.” Nav appeared in the room looking very worried indeed.

X said “Not now, Sam is having hard time with all of this. She needs me.”

Nav nodded and whispered as she walked out, “Savannah is going to need lots of help if Blaze jumps.” As she went in search for Swain and Buffer.

Xo began to try to calm down Sam but found nothing was working so she pulled Sam to her and cuddled lying her head onto her chest for comfort.

Meanwhile Mike had picked up Blaze and was in his own office cuddling her and Blaze cried out, “I don’t deserve Savannah, I should just give her to Sam.”

Xo said “Shhh Sam, I’m here, Sammy. You can tell me anything.” As she cuddled her.

 Sam said "I still don't want to have Savannah she will have to go to another family if Blaze doesn’t wont her anymore" and Sam saw a photo on her desk of her with the X and Sam is pregnant in that photo. Sam held onto Xo and laid onto her chest.

Mike knocked on the door and came and said “Blaze wants Savannah, but she believes she doesn’t deserve her.”

Sam said “If she is going to another family, I want the details.” And Mike shook his head.

“No she isn’t, Blaze is just having a hard time at the moment and she just needs me so Xo if you don’t mind, will you watch over the ship a little more for the next few weeks. Blaze’s ex husband is out of jail.” Mike explained.

Xo said “Okay boss.” Before returning to Sam since she still is in a mess. Mike left and picked up Blaze and began to sing her a lullaby he sang to her when she was little.

Soon it was shore leave and Blaze picked up Savannah who was waiting for her at the port and said “My Savvy, I’m back.” Mike smiled as he picked up Savannah’s stuff, she was going to stay with him and so was Blaze.

Sam and Xo walked past them as they headed to the car and Xo asked Sam, “Wanna say hello to Savannah?”

“Okay.” Sam said and she and Xo walked over to Blaze and Savannah.

“Hello Mummy.” Savannah suddenly said to Sam, Blaze had explained that she wasn’t Savannah’s real mother to Savannah.

Sam looked shocked to be called mum and didn’t know how to respond, “Hi.” She said and Blaze said “Wanna give her a hug Sam?”

Sam said “Okay.” And walked over to Savannah and picked her up giving a hug. Blaze smiled softly and said “If you ever want her back, just tell me okay. I love her but she is your daughter.”

Sam said "That’s ok Blaze I know that you are doing a good job" then Sam said to Savannah "How's my little Sailor doing?”

“I’m doing good. Auntie Blaze is going to teach me how to be navy sailor like you. Is Hammersley really big?” Savannah said smiling.

Sam said "Yes it is a big ship plus that’s cool that you want to be a sailor like your mum."

“I’m getting a baby cousin, Auntie Blaze decided to keep it.” Savannah said, “I’ll help her take care of the baby.”

Sam said “That’s great.” And Xo said “Okay Savannah, Your mum is tired so we going to have to go and have a nap.”

“Bye mummy.” Savannah cooed as Sam handed her over to Blaze who smiled.

Blaze smiled as she took Savannah home when she felt a sharp pain in her stomach and Mike said “What’s wrong Blaze?”

“Nothing...” Blaze muttered as she put Savannah to sleep and sat on the couch.

The next day Sam received a phone call from Mike "Sam McGregor" and Mike said "Hi Sam would you mind looking after Savannah for us I have to take Blaze to the hospital" and Sam said "Sure I’ll be over soon" and they both hung up.

Soon Sam was sitting with Savannah who said “Is it scary when Hammersley goes into a storm?”.

“Not really but it gets very rough through.” Sam said when Xo butted in and said “Don’t scare her with Chefo’s stories.”

“What was it like when you was pregnant with me?” Savannah asked cuddling up.

Sam said "Well you kicked me a lot plus here is something you don't know while I was pregnant with you I was on Hammersley"

“Will Auntie Blaze be okay? She’s in lots of pain and cried.” Savannah asked.

Sam said “I’m sure she will be fine.” When her phone rang and Blaze said in tears, “I lost the baby.” Sobbing.

X said to Savannah "Sam just got a phone call from your Aunty Blaze and I’m really sorry to say this but she lost the baby"

“Is Auntie Blaze going to die? Why is God hating her? She didn’t do anything wrong. Why did he take her baby?” Savannah said in tears.

Sam said “Sometimes that just happens. You are right she didn’t do anything.” And Savannah began to cry as she ran to Buffer who had just walked in.

Blaze soon was home and she just went to her bed and cried. Mike stood there unsure and said to Sam, “I don’t know how to help her.”

Sam said “I’ll try to talk to her.” And walked into Blaze’s room. Blaze looked up and said, “This was all my fault, I was so scared I got a six pack of beer and drank it.”

Sam said “I’m so sorry Blaze. Is there anything I can do to help?”

“Would you mind helping me take care of Savannah?” Blaze asked she looked up to Sam, “Can you tell Ro and Swain too?”

Sam said "Of course I can help you and i will tell the others. What happens if Hammersley gets tasked I'll have't to go"

“My grandparents will take care of her, since I will need to go too. Since we are going tomorrow, she will stay with my grandparents.” Explained Blaze, “Ro and Swain will never forgive me.”

Sam said "Ok Blaze by the way I would like to get to know my daughter a little" and Sam was shocked about what she just said.

“That’s great to hear.” Blaze said smiling at her as she slowly sat up and went and gave Sam a hug. “Nothing will replace you, you are Savannah’s mother.”

Sam said "Thanks Blaze that means a lot to me"

Blaze looked up and said “Deep down, she is an McGregor.”

Sam tried to bl
ink back tears when Savannah came and said “I wanna live with mummy and grandma Kate.”

Sam didn’t know what to say to that but Blaze said trying not to cry, “Well you will have to ask your mummy and Kate about that.”

“You can stay with us while we are on shore leave.” Sam said and Blaze slightly smiled even through it broke her heart as she watched Savannah squeal and hugged Sam.

The next day on Hammersley, Blaze was staring out to sea and she burst into tears when a dolphin swim past, “I need you ET!” she wailed as she sat down.

When they got back home, Savannah run up to Sam and wrapped her arms around her excited. Blaze quietly  slipped away home when she found ET standing there and she wrapped her arms around him crying.

“We gonna have fun mummy.” Savannah squealed not noticing Blaze wasn’t even there.

Sam said "Yeh we will have fun. Savannah did you just call me mummy" Sam said trying her best not to cry from the emotions that she is feeling.

“Yep, you don’t mind do you?” Savannah asked frowning a little as she looked up at Sam.
“Will you be okay with this Sam?” Xo asked Sam quietly.

Sam said "I don't mind" and also said to Xo "I'll be fine Mum"

Savannah smiled as she followed Sam and Xo to the car when ET approached Sam and said “May I talk to you?”

Sam said “Sure what’s up?”

“Blaze is sad, can you talk to Savannah about not forgetting Blaze. I understand Blaze isn’t Savannah’s mother but she doesn’t want Savannah to forget about her.” ET said while Xo stared at him like she saw a ghost.

Sam said "Ok ET Savannah is still living with her though she is just staying over for a few days"

“Okay.” ET said when Nav fainted off the board leading to the Hammersley and he smiled at Sam, “Thanks.”

Sam said "That’s ok ET" and Sam got into the car and sat next to Savannah.

“I just saw a ghost.” Xo said getting in and drove them home and Savannah said “I thought ET was a dead man.”

Sam said to Savannah "You shouldn’t say stuff like that"

“Why mummy?” Savannah asked as she smiled at Sam curious cuddling up.

Sam said "Because it isn’t nice" and X was a little shocked when Savannah called Sam Mummy

“Did she just call you mummy?” Xo asked Sam as she drove their driveway.

Sam said “Yep she did.” As she took Savannah inside and Xo asked “You are fine with that?”

While Sam was walking inside she said "Yeh I'm fine with it"

“Mummy, why did Nav say ET is died when he isn’t?” Savannah asked curiously.

Sam said "I don't know why you will have to ask Nikki" as she put down Savannah into her bed and tucked her in.

Sam said goodnight and walked to Xo and said “This feel s wired mum”

Xo said to Sam "What feels weird Sammy"

“Savannah calling me mummy.” Sam replied as she sat down next to Xo, “I mean she’s Blaze’s daughter.”

Xo said "Ok are you going to be ok with it"

“I don’t know.” Sam said when Nav rushed in, tripped and said “ET is a zombie!”

Sam and Xo both looked at Nav and said "Quiet Savannah is sleeping plus he isn’t a zombie"

Nav went quiet but she began to cry into her hands realizing he wasn’t really died and he didn’t tell her.

Sam walked over to Nav and sat with her for a while then started talking to Xo about what they were talking about.

“Are you ready Sam for Savannah to call you mummy?” Xo said while Nav fall asleep in Sam’s lap.

Sam said “I’m not sure.” When Savannah walked out and said “Don’t you love me enough to let me call you mummy Sam?”

Sam looked at Savannah and said "I do love you a lot"

“Why don’t you want me to call you mummy? Should I call you auntie Sam instead?” Savannah said as she sat down.

Sam said "You can still call me mummy I’m still getting used to it that’s all"

Savannah gave Sam a hug when Nav went sadly to her room and sank to her bed and Savannah asked “Why Nikki sad?”

Sam said “I think it’s about ET. That’s Josh to you.”

“Did he hurt her?” Savannah asked, “Can I make her happy?”

Sam said "No Savannah Josh didn’t hurt her. You can talk to Nikki tomorrow"

Sam was finally used to the idea of Savannah calling her mum or mummy and a few months later Blaze finally had twins and Nav had moved in with Sam and Xo.

Savannah came running up to Sam and said "Mummy I wanna be a sailor" and Xo looked at Sam and Sam said "Really you want to be like your Mum"

Savannah said "Yep I do" and jumped into Sam's arms and Nav said "awww that's cute" 

Blaze smiled as she watched from her home next to Sam and Xo’s house with baby Annabelle and Noah and said “All things are good.”
