Prologue:
The girl with coppery hair is visibly excited when I've finished speaking. Her gray eyes are sparkling with--well, hope seems most accurate.
"Anne, have you ever been told how much of a GENIUS you are?" she asks me while she smiles. "I love that idea! I think your book will be incredible!" She then looks eagerly at the 4 other creatu(at least, it's four if you don't count me) at the table. "Well?" she asks, a hint of expectancy in her voice. "Don't you guys like it too?"
If anyone was going to immediately speak up, it was drowned out by the loud sounds of an apple being eating.
The culprit of this is Sylvanas, the Valabex whipping her pink tail from side to side in pleasure. We pause our conversation for a few more seconds to watch her stuff her mouth with the salad and pizza we were having for lunch. It takes her a few minutes to notice we've stopped talking and have just been watching her.
"...Huh?" she says when she looks up. "Sorry, what were we talking about again?"
A sigh of exasperation comes from the seat on the Valabex's left. "Jeez, Sylv," comes the annoyed quip from Jaina, the Zenirix's black fur bristling. "We were talking about Anne's plan to write an autobiography, but then Lia decided to get us to all sing praises to her for doing this."
"Now, now, Jaina," comes the chiding voice of Alleria, the light brown Tesuri looking rather amused, despite herself. "Please relax. I know that Lia can be a bit forceful sometimes-"
This was met with a "Hey!" from Lia, which was entirely ignored.
"-but that is part of why we love her. And, Anne," she stops and looks at me. "We're all in support of you and your idea. We think it's going to be incredible."
"Yeah!" comes the support from directly across my seat at the table. Crowley is looking at me eagerly, happily, encouragingly. "I know you'll be able to do it, Big Sis!"
Embarrassed, my tail wraps around me. "Um, thanks, you guys," I say, ducking eye contact as I smile. "I really appreciate your support."
This is met with a shared reaction by the rest of my family, one of general support and encouragement... at least until the clock chimes 1:00 P.M.
"Oh, CRAP!!" Lia exclaims. "I was supposed to check my auctions by now! They've probably started closing it by now, I'm going to need to get the money from there fast!" She jumps up from her seat and runs to the door, in a panic. "H-hey, Jaina!"
"Don't worry, I'm coming, " Jaina, already walking toward the worried redhead, reassures. "And I've made a mental list of other things we should do while we're out close to Reiflem," she says as the two leave the house.
After that, the four of us just remain there for a few minutes before we each leave to do our own things--Alleria and Crowley go to clean the dishes, Sylvanas decides to stick around and finish any food we hadn't, and I-well you can guess, I go up to my room to start writing.
Well, it's really more of an attic than one room, though, I guess it isn't to be thought that much of.
And at my desk is my typewriter, just where I left it, with the stack of paper and the silver shell beside it. I grin, walking over to it, my mind already trying out ways for me to phrase the first couple of sentences.
And then, after I had sat at the chair for a few minutes in a blank silence, the perfect words just... flew into my mind.
Sighing a sigh of relief and impatience, I concentrate, and begin to write.
