okay this is my first time writing here but I wanted to see what you all thought. Please post any suggestions or if you think I can do better.

  The Last One

 Chapter One:

  Jade looked around the empty park watching as the wing pushed the swing. She shivered as the cold night air formed a blanked around her cooling her skin. She was all alone in the world with no one and nothing. She was the last surviving human on the planet and yet she didn't feel alone. She felt like something was watching her, hunting her. She pulled a strand of her black hair from her face and looked around feeling uneasy.

 Jade started to walk away her arms wrapped around her. She was wearing dirty  torn up jeans with a t shirt. She was tired and hungry. She walked over to the nearest house. It seemed as though the people who lived in it had just gone out to do some shopping and would be back in a hour or two. That door was unlocked and the lights were on. A warm fire was just beginning to die and the room was warm. Jade kept on moving until she got to the fridge. She moved a hand towards it her cold hard fingers pushing on the latch and opening the door. She grabbed a gallon of milk and some cheese and sat down her eyes droopy with bags underneath them.

 She heard something hit the floor with a crash and turned towards it. She took a step back seeing what looked like giant rat.

  The rat had dark silver fur and half its face was made of metal. The rat's teeth were rotten and yellow with chips missing from the tips. Large spikes ran down its back to its furry up tail. One of the rat's eyes what a blood red and the other was black.

 Jade screamed taking another step backwards tripping. She fell on her butt with a thud her arms waving through the air trying to catch her balance. She started to crawl backwards as the rat walked towards her. She grabbed the closest thing she could reach, a plastic knife, and pointed it at the rat. The rat just laughed and kept walking towards her its tail wagging from side to side. 

 Jade pulled herself up using the side of the table. The rat was almost as tall as her but she tried not to show how scared she was. She took another step back grabbing a book. She lifted the book smacking the rat on the head.

 The rat hissed and shook its head looking back at Jade. Its teeth where dripping with drool and spit and its eyes stared into Jade's with hatred and anger. A long howl came from far away and the rat looked away. It turned back towards Jade giving her a angry look before turning around and running off.

 Jade was breathing heavily. She knew that the creature would be back but made no attempt to leave the house. She was too tired to think and could barely move. She walked to another room and sat down on the bed closing her eyes. She fell asleep right away.

  Jade opened her eyes. She sat up in bed and looked around. She could smell pancakes coming from the kitchen. She yanwed stretching the got up. She walked into the kitchen surprised to see her parents,"Mom? Dad? I though you had die-" She stopped as she saw her parent not even notice she was there. They just kept on talking. There voices where quiet and they seemed to not even hear her,"Hello?" She asked looking at them. She saw them start to fade and watched in horror. She walked towards them trying to stop them from disapearing but couldn't help. She was left alone in the room. No noises except her breathing. She saw a shadow flicker around and turned around to see a giant army of the giant rat she had had seen earlier. She screamed waking up.
