Link never has a voice in the game. I'm going to give him one. Enjoy. I'll probably be doing most of it from Midna's point of view. <3

________

He awoke with a start, cold sweat running down his heated skin and matting his hair to his face. Link sat up sharply in bed, blue eyes blinking furiously as he tried to rid himself of the dreams. A hooded figure standing before her throne, facing a danger masked to him. He struggled to remember the dream, but already the edges of it were dimming, the face of the sequences slipping away.

Link ran a hand through his hair and shook his head before pushing himself off of the bed. He slipped on his typical Ordon clothes and slid down the ladder from his platformed bedroom. When he reached the bottom, he cracked open the door and headed outside.

The remnants of the dream still shook the boy and he rubbed his blue eyes with a sigh. A nicker to his right and he circled around the house. A smile tugged at his lips when he spotted Epona, his horse, grazing on a few tufts of grass. "Here girl," he said with a click of his tongue. The horse's brown eyes found him and she snorted shyly before trotting over to him.

"That's a good girl," he cooed as he rubbed her cheek affectionately. She snorted into his face and nuzzled his head with her snout. Link slipped behind her and grabbed her reigns off of the post. He fed her the bit and busied himself with putting her saddle on. Once Epona was tacked properly, he grabbed the reigns and led her down the wooded path to his village.

Ordon was nothing of interest to travelers. Merchants typically didn't bother with the town and it would most likely stay off the map if it weren't for Ordon's skilled swordsman and crafter. Rusl, the man who taught Link to heft a sword when the boy was of age, was currently in the midst of making a sword as a gift for the Hyrule family.

Link led Epona through town, passing the village shop and a few small houses on the way. He slowed when he passed by the mayor's house, hoping for a chance to catch Ilia. He frowned when the door stayed closed. With a click of his tongue, he led Epona up the hill past the mayor's house. When he cleared the village, he took Epona into a small pasture. To his right lay the farmhouse to Ordon's ranch.

With a huff, Link mounted Epona, his blue eyes already tracing the many goats grazing around the area. He grabbed Epona's reigns in his hands and sent his heels into her flank. With a click of his tongue, she trotted around the pasture for a bit, the goats fleeing her massive hooves.

When she was warmed up, Link began to round the goat up in a group. He bundled the beings up before leading them back into the stables. When his duty was over, he dismounted Epona and swung the gates shut, locking the goats in their stable.

"Aye, Link. Heard the goat's squealin' out here. Thought I'd offer ta set the gates up for you," a distinctly gruff voice said from behind him. Link grinned and turned around to face the farmer.

"I think Epona would love that," the boy replied with a sly grin toward his horse. Epona snorted again and seemed to roll her eyes before clapping her hooves down on the ground.

"A'right, 'Pona. I'll get ter settin' up the jumps."

Link mounted Epona again and led her around the pasture while the farmer set up the jumps. He could feel the horse's muscles rolling under him and he patted the side of her neck. With another click of his tongue, he set Epona at a brisker pace, wanting her muscles totally stretched out before the jumps.

"Link, I think you'll find everything's set," he heard and with that, the farmer slammed the gate to the pasture shut. Link grinned and set Epona off into the middle of the field. He waved to the farmer once before resuming his task.

"Come on, girl," he urged as he pushed his heels into her flank again. She set off into a full-scale sprint and with the first low jump approaching, cleared it with ease. Link whooped as her hooves met the ground again and Epona let out a heavy huff. He led her to a larger jump and she cleared it with ease.

When her breathing started to sound labored, Link patted her side. "Let's go home, girl." He set her into another run and edged her toward the closed farm gate. A troubling thought at the jump's height crossed his mind, but he trusted Epona to make it. When she jumped, he heard a loud whine escape from her, but she landed it all the same.

He stopped her after a few paces. "You alright, girl?" he murmured as he ran his hands along her copper-brown hair. His fingers curled into her straw colored mane and he sighed. "Best be getting home," he said as he pushed her into a slow walk.

(I know the beginning is really boring, but I needed to start it. xD)
