The New Clans--Gold and Silver. Chapter 1 --------- "Silver, wake up!" It had all happened too fast. The small kittypet had everything she could possibly wish for, and it one frightful day is was taken away from her. "Silver, you have to wake up! Please!" The frantic mews ringed in her ears, smoke filling up her nostrils. Blood tingled down her ear. But all was black. "Don't die on me, sister! Please! Your the only thing I have left!" Tears stung the young silver tabby's fur, then rolling down her barely heaving chest. Suddenly she went into a coughing spasm. "Oh my gawd, Silver. Your alive!" Something mewed, then began to frantically lick her singed fur. But I'm suposed to tell you the beginning of our story, not the end. My name is Silver, and my sister is Gold. Our parents died when we were young, and the reft of out litter died from sickness. We were the only survivors. We were rescued by an old housefolk. She raised us well, and all was happy. That was until I chased a squirrel into a bush that bordered the forest and our House folk nest. I caught it, yes, but not after it ran into....Enemy territory. Gold followed me, and my poor baby didn't return. I missed her so much..... Thats when he came. He was a handsome black cat, with a long tail and a dignified air around him. He brought back my baby Gold. From then on he visited us everyday, but we both knew that he knew something we didn't. Ha taught us how to hunt, and slowly, we were seperated by out House Folk. We ventured out in the forest withouth a fear. We chased small dogs away. We caught our own food. He seemed quite pleased with us. And at that moment, when he began to cough up horrible red liquid, is where is all went down hill. He left us, and only visited us once a moon. Then not at all. We feared the worst. He was our only friend, in a world of lonliness. Sure, the old housefolk fed us, but we didn't need her anymore. We were sleeping peacefully in our nest, when the smell of smoke caught out noses. I guess you could call it destiny. Or mabye a beginning. A beginning of our coplicated, confusing lives. We have no idea how the fire started, but we did know one thing-- we had to get out. And thats how we got in this horrible prediciment. I shook violently while my sister licked my wound. A deep gash in my head. Our housefolk had gotten out safely, but the old hag left us in the burning house with no way out. Gold tried her best to get me back on my paws, but it was hard because my little baby was a runt of the litter. It was a wonder she survived. "Come on, Silver. We have to...get...out..." She said, her voice coming out in rough, shallow pants. The smoke was getting to her. i had to get her out. We dragged outselves away from the burning side of the house until we reached a window. But we were done, and by the look in Gold's eye, she knew also. She fell first. I looked around frantically, trying to find a way out. The window was closed. Our only escape was blocked. I guessed we had about less than a minute before we burned along with the nest. Thats when we saw the claws. Scraping at the window frantically, followed by slitted eyes. The only thing I remembered is a cloak of blakness swallowing me and Gold. We woke a few days earlier, our fur still burned from the heat of the fire. I looked over to my sister, and breathed a sigh of relief. She was alive, and laying beside me. I could barely tell her beautiful calico pelt from the ash, which made her look like a ragged grey cat. Her hazel eyes blinked at me hopefully. "Reunions will have to wait," Came a rough voice. Gold snuggled against my singed fur fearfully. I looked up to see a brown tabby, towering over us. I didn't have to say anything, our scared eyes told him everything. "My name is Hawkclaw," He introduced himself. "And wlecome to our Clan." Thats when we noticed the eyes staring at us. we looked closer to see different colors of pelts. Black, white, grey, tabby, everything. and they were all staring at me. Even the kits stared in horror at our sorry sppearances. Hushed whispers ringer in my ears. surprisingly, Gold spoke next. "C-Clan?" Her ragged voice asked, makign the clan cats wince. "Our Leader will see you." Was all he said before two cats we didn't even notice picked us up by our scrufts and dragged us to a stone came upon a high rock. Once they dropped us, then began to hiss and spit. Apparently, we didn't taste very good. A ginger and white tom gretted us next. His rough voiuce was surprisingly soft. "I am Cloudstar, leader os SwiftClan." He mewed. There was that Clan crap again. I looked closer at his pelt, which was a red ginger color with white patches that reminded us of clouds. "Why are we here...?" I asked stubbornly, voice ragged by the smoke. He ignored my question and pushed us a rounded leaf with cool liquid in it, next a smaller leaf with a golden substance in it. "Here, have some water." He mewed. We lapped up the water and had some trouble lapping up the honey. he opened his muzzle to speak again, but a grey cat ran into the den, panting heavily. "WildClan have moved there borders again!" he panted. "They have taken the Rabbit Fields!" The Clan Leader hissed. "I told them if they took one more rabbit leap into our territory they'd regret it. Wolfpatch, take Hawkclaw, Frostpaw, Snaketail, and Darkcloud and defend our territory!" He yowled. The young tom nodded and sped away. We stared at him, clearly puzzled. "Let me explain."

Screw it. I got bored. Chapter 2: "You see," The Clan Leader briefly explained about all the clans. "So this...WildClan...has been stealing your food--fresh-kill?" Gold asked in a small voice, then continued to lap up the rest of the honey. "Yes, apprentice. There is SwiftClan, WildClan, FrostClan, and SkyClan. We are SwiftClan." He mewed. All this clan crap does make sence, but why are we here? I wondered. This cat is hiding something. I glanced at Gold, who happily accepted what the Clan Leader had said. I sighed to myself, when was she going to learn that not everyone is her friend? "Now, if you excuse me, I must go see to m Clan. I won't allow those mangy rats to take our fresh-kill away!" He hissed, stalking outside. "What now?" Gold asked, the bell around her collar gingling as she stood up. "Well I know one thing, we can't let those mean cats take away SwiftClan's food." I said. I padded out of the leader's den and jumped down the high rock. Gold did the same, her bell ringing. All the Clan cats turned to us. They looked at us as if we were annoying dogs. Gold caught the word 'Stupid Kittypets,', though she ignored it, not knowing what it had meant. I, on the other hand, could hear everything they were saying. And I also knew what it meant. "Where're you going?" Came a snicker from behind us. We turned around to see a black tom with white tuxcedo like markings. "Where else?" I snapped. "Oh, is the widdle kitty-pet going to follow Cloudstar and save the clans?" He asked sarcastically. Gold's fur fluffed up uneasily. I layed back my ears and bared my sharp fangs and let out a threatening hiss. Though, he ignored me and jumped over to Gold and biting the collar right off. Gold wailed. "Give it back!" She begged. "Give me back my bell!" "All it is is two-leg rubbish." The black and white cat hissed, clawing it up to bits before padding away. Gold ran over to it and layed down, mewing pitiously. "He ruined it. It was the only thing...we had...from...mommy..." She stuttered, tears rolling down her eyes. Gold was very sentitive about things like this. "Come on, Gold." I mewed softly to her. "We'll fix it later. aren't we going to helo Cloudstar?" Gold nodded. "O-...kay.." She sniffeld, getting to her paws. Surprisingly, no one tried to stop us. I concluded that they didn't care when a black, orange, and brown calico tom bounded up to us. "Where ya goin'?" he asked playfully. "I'm Blackpaw." He mewed. "Goign with Cloudstar..." I answered, ears layed back as I steppe dinfront of Gold in a protective manner. "Can I come with joo~?" He mewed, grinning. Silver tilted her head. This cat wasn't like the other one. "Sure," i said awkwardly. "I don't have a mentor yet, so no one will make me not come with you." He said happily. "Come on! I watched him leave this way." The tom bounded off, and we followed reluctantly. Even when we were out of camp, I had this uneasy feeling like those cats were still watching me. It didn't take long before we foudn the rivalling clans. We didn't even need Blackpaw, for the hisses, spit, and yowls could of been heard a mile away. "This is our hunting grounds!" I noticed Cloudstar's voice right away. "Well weak clans like yours don't need more fresh-kill, only the stronger cats like WildClan should have them! You'll die off by the next Leaf-bare." Said some unknown cat. Hissed and spits reacted to the Wildclan's remark. Me and my sister walked out of the bushes and stared at them, whild Blackpaw stayed in the bushes and watched silently. The WildClan's cats gasped and backed away from us like we were ghosts. "Silverclaw and Goldcomet," They gasped. They all sunk low to the ground. Cloudstar stared at us in horror. "Why didn't you stay in camp?" He demanded. We stared at him. he hissed and turned back to the WildClan cats. "If you take our hunting grounds again, we will kill you." He mewed evenly. They backed away, nodded to us, and fled. The SwiftClan cats yowled happily. Thougb Cloudstar didn't seem happy. He took us back to camp and didn't speak another word to us. Why were those cats talking about? Blackpaw slunk into our den. "Hey..Blackpaw." I mewed. "Hiya~!" he plopped right down beside us. I wiggled unconfortably. He didn't seem to notice. "I want to sit her all day and fall asleep...." Blackpaw mewed. "You can if you want to," Gold mewed. "I'd enojoy the conpany," "Thanks, but I can't. cloudstar said that you to to meet him on his high rock for a meeting," The apprentice yawned. "Well get off your lazy tail and take us there!" I mewed irritably. "FIne, fine." He hissed, getting up with a grunt and leading us to the high rock. "all cats old anough to catch their own prey come beneath the high rock for a Clan meeting!" He called. We sat beside him, heads low. We were embaras.sed from all the attention. The clan cats glared at us. "Now, we all know about the two mysterious cats that came to our camp," he mewed. "Wait!" I snapped. All eyes wer eon me. Again. I shrunk back. "What?" The leader asked softly, yet I could tell he was annoyed. "We didn't come here, you brought us." I said quietly. The leader stared at us. "What do you mean? We went to sleep and the next day you to were sleeping together in the middle of camp." He mewed. I stared at him. "We pas.sed out...." "From what?" "The fire." The cat gasped. The Clan leader stared at us in horror. "Cloudstar!" Came a she-cats voice. "We can't take this any longer. We know that these cats are linked to the prophecy." A beautiful dark silver tabby stared up at us with icy eyes. "I know, Silvermoon." He said quietly. "What are you names." He asked us. "Silver." I answered. "Gold." My sister answered. More hissed of surprise could be heard. "It all links together. Silver, who saved you?" "I don't know. All I saw were long claws and yellow eyes before I pas.sed out." "Interesting."" Silvermoon mewed. Cloudstar sighed. "Tonight, Silver and Goold, you shall get your names." "What?" "Are you kidding me?" "Your going to let them goin the clan?" "Their kittypets!" All kinds of remarks hissed at us. "I am the leader and this is what Is ay!" he snarled. They quieted down. "Gold, Silver, I wgive you your apprentice names. Gold, you shall be named Goldpaw. Silver, Silverpaw. Speckletail will mentor Goldpaw and Silverpaw will be mentored by Wolfpatch." No one called there names. Blackpaw pounded up to us happily. "Whoah! Your part of the Clan now!" He mewed. Gold, now Goldpaw, looke dup at me. Who asked us if we wanted to be apart of a stupid clan anyway? I asked myself. No one. But Goldpaw was very, very excited. "And Cloudstar said that my mentor will be Lionclaw." He boasted. "He's the deputy." "Deputy?" "You know, second in command? When Cloudstar dies, Lionclaw will become leader. so I'm mentred by the next leader!" While Goldpae and Blackpaw chatted, something was telling me to go out. So I did. I layed beneath a large tree and fell asleep. "Silver," Something whispered. I knew who it was. I opened my eyes to see him. The handsome black tom. "You've come along way, Silver. Everythign it fitting into place." "Its Silverpaw now." I said. He chuckled. "I have missed you," The two talked for hours until mews could be heard a little farther away. "Silverpaw!" They called. "I must leave, he said. "Wait--no!" But he was already gone. "Don't tell anyone," His voice ringed in her ears. "Silverpaw! Thank Starclan we found you. Cloudstar would of had our tails if we lost you. Who were you talking to?" "No one." I mewed. "No one at all."

Chapter 3 Everything had happened so fast. The fire, the clan, the naming....everything. I told Goldpaw, but she's just a playful kit in my mind. She said it was something to do with destiny. I asked her what she meant, and sh etold me that destiny was something about my future. 'I don't want this future', I had told her, but she shook her head. 'You can't escape destiny.' 'So what, I don't have a choice?' She looked real hard at me, and shook her head. 'Sister, your scaring me. Can we change the subject?' I know she means well, but I was so mad that I ignored her and stomped off like some angry kit. I missed the black cat, and I wish I knew his name. He was the only one who understanded me. And everything was so confusing! Silverclaw and Goldcomet. Who the hell were they? These stupid strays know more than we do. Goldpaw didn't seem to care, but I did. Before I had time to go snooping around, Blackpaw had found me. Again. I swear, you can't get away from him! "Hey, Silverpaw!" he said excitedly. I groaned. "I was just talking to Lionclaw and--" Everythign he said I ignored. I stopped listening at 'Lionclaw'. Silverclaw and Lionclaw. Mabye he knew something, there names were so similar. "--And they said that you and Goldpaw could go and--" I continued to nod my head, but in reality I was still ignoring him. And he was a Deputy, so he must knew something. I decided to go see him. I took a step, but Blackpaw was still going on at it. "--So, do you wanna go?" He finished finally. "Go where?" I asked, puzzled. "Stupid kittypet. We're having a contest on seeing who can hunt the most mice!" I sighed and nodded. Wolfpatch padded up to me and gave me a swift lick behind the ear. "Your filthy." He said. "So?" I snaped. "Looks aren't everything." He purred with amusment. "Yes, but we won't be able to get a pre rabbit hops near the fres-kill before they smell and and run away." He did have a point. I shrugged. He started to lick my pelt, and my white and silver tabby coat shined. Apparently, Goldpaw had already cleaned herself. "Silverpaw, you look amazing." she purred. Wolfpatch smirked in satifaction. I glared at him. "Silverpaw, oh Silverpaw!" Blackpaw called. He looked around and sat by Goldpaw. "Where's your sister?" he asked. I rolled my eyes. "I'm here, you moron." Blackpaw smiled that cheesy smile of his. Speckletail was talking to the Medicine cat, Silvermoon, when we all padded up to her. "And just incase, we need some cobwebs. You know what, why don't you come and make sure no one gets hurt?" Speckletail mewed. "That's be best." Silvermoon mewed. At the corner of her eyes and looked at me. It sent shivers down my spine. She went back into her den to get supplies. "Now you get to meet everybody!" Blackpaw said excitedly at me. "they'll know that your not as bad as you look." He teased. I nipped his ear. He pouted. Wolfpatch sighed. "Me and silverpaw will be team Snake, Coppertail and Rainpaw will be team Lizard, LionClaw and Blackpaw will be team Frog, Speckletail and Goldpaw will be team Flower, and Badgerfang and Swanpaw will be team Leaf." Wolfpatch mewed. The teams were all ready excitment, though Silverpaw let out a hiss. It was that evil cat who ruined her sister's bell. Badgerfang was his name. And the miserable Swanpaw with him. The young tawny apprentice looked down-to-earth. Badgerfang smirked at me. 'I'm better that you,' he seemed to say. "Here are the rules, we will only catch mice!" Wolfpatch mewed. "Only work within your teams. No cheating! Meaning, don't take fresh-kill that isn't yours. The winner will recieve a special prize from our leader." I just noticed that Cloudstar was looking down at us. Speckletail, with her beautiful white pelt and gold markings, sat with Goldpaw. Cpooertail was a dark ginger with green eyes, and Rainpaw was all black except for a white muzzle. He has striking blue eyes. Wolfpatch was all grey, but had one black spot around his eye, and had amber eyes. Lionclaw was the color of a lion and Blackpaw was a black/grey tabby with hazel eyes. Silverpaw flexed her claws while her mentor explained where they were going. "Are you ready?" Called the leader. The cats yowled. "They...Go!" The cats ran in all directions. i ran with Wolfpatch on the north side, and Badgerfang and Swanpaw went North West. She ignored him. Wolfpatch looked around. "I'll go over here, and you go over there. Its better to get two mice than one." He winked at me before he padded off. Before I knew it, I was stalking a plump mouse nibbling on a seed. Thats when I felt a warm flank brushed against my side. I turned to see friendly blue eyes, and a large black pelt. he had come to help me! I grinned. 'Keep your eyes ont he prize," He mewed. I nodded, and we stalked the mouse together. We moved as one, not making a single sound. We killed our prey quickly, and buried it. "Thank you," I mewed, nuzzling him. He was....cold. "I must go, watch out for badger." he mewed before fading away. I giggled at how dramatic he was. Watch out for badger? What had he meant? I had three mice, and Wolfpatch had caught one. He chuckled. "Your a skillful hunter," he mewed. "I think I'll go this way," I mewed. "Well, okay.." Wolfpatch padded away. Once I was alone, I waited for the handsome tom to come. He didn't. I hissed, walking on. I met Goldpaw on the way, she had caught two mice. we went out seperate ways. then I was stalking another mouse. But this one was young, and I knew it would be hard. He'd make me work for my food. I stalked, then lunged, but a fluffy of black fur caught my eye and a teasing chuckle ringer in my ears. I bit into Badgerfang, and he batted me again. With my ear bleeding, i hissed at him. he had his claws out. Swanpaw looked from a distance, her green eyes wary. The mouse scurried awya. I stalked away, not wanting to give his the benefit of seeing my pain. This had happened three more times, and the next time I talked to Goldpaw she had five mice. We still had a measily four. we were losing. I snarled, clawing a tree. It was all his fault! Pain surged through my body like black blood. The next time I see him, I thought. I'm going to kill him. That didn't take long. I was stalking a good mouse, when he scared it away. i snarled, popping out my claws. "Oh look, the widdle bitty kitty lost a mousie again." he grinned. We circled eachother. Swanpaw looked away. "Your cheating." I hissed. "So?" he grinned. "I'kk get that prize and convonce Cloudstar that we only need full blooded warriors in this clan. Not filthy kitty-pets like you." I lunged, and missed horribly. "Can't fight? I'm too quick for you. you can't even catch me--" He let out a blood curdling cry as my fangs met his neck. He flailed around, mewing pitiously. My claws dug into his belly. Swanpaw ran away, crying. But I liked this feeling. The blood was such a pretty color. His screams made me smile. .....I wanted to see more. My eyes turned red as I dug my longer claws deep inside him. His crying died out. Yes, let me out. Let me out! Soemthing cried inside me. Badgerfang wasn't moving anymore. My once beautiful fur was covered in blood. I dropepd him. No, no! Something screeched. Everything was dizzy. My breathing came in ragged pants. "Silverpaw!" Someone screamed. "Where are you?!" the last thing I remembered was seeing all the teams staring at we in horror. My heart stung. There was my baby, my all. Goldpaw was staring at me. She backed away. She was scared at me. I pas.sed out. ----- Silvermoon's eyes shone sadness as she stared at her reflection in a small pool of water. Instead of going with them, she had watched the whole scene. She sighed. Cloudstar padded beside her. "Now we know for sure," Silvermoon mewed quietly. Cloudstar shook his head. "She seems like a nice cat. What should we do? If she has one of her attacks again, and Silverclaw tried to get out....Someone might die." He said sadly. "I must go and tend to badgerfang," The medicine cat mewed, ignoring him as she picked up a bundle of herbs and ran out.
