When Fantasy Became Reality
Prologue
I stared at the man. Several teeth were missing and his clothes were ragged and torn. His muscles bulged beneath thick skin. His eyes were crazy and a little drool dripped from his mouth as he stared at me. We were locked in the room. No one was going to come and save me. No one. I made myself think of nothing else. No one was coming to save me this time. Might as well fight and get it over with. I stood no chance against the man. I raised the jagged shard of gl*censored*. I could smell the salty sweet smell of my blood that tainted the gl*censored* red. I prepared to fight for my life.
Chapter 1
I sat down at my desk and turned the monitor on. "Come on, come on, come on! Load already!" I whispered, drumming my fingers on the keyboard as I waited for my ancient computer to load. Finally, my screen showed up. "Yes!" I muttered. I clicked the Internet and typed in my favorite sites name. My heart raced as the online RPG game popped up on my screen. I smiled as I logged in and my wolf neko showed up on my screen. Suddenly, a message showed up in the corner of my screen.
Hey WolfMoon! What you up to?
I smiled at my friend's carefree question. He never cared much for Internet safety. His mom almost had a heart attack when she found out that one of the people he talks to lives right next door to him.
Nothing much FoxTail. Have you leveled up at all while I was gone?
I typed back, smiling and brushing a stray strand of hair. My friend, Luc, always tried to get higher in his level than me so that he can evolve his character before I do. He loves being first in everything.
Duh! Head over to Hound's Den and take a look at my new form. ^-^
I stared at the screen. He was such a big show off. I made my character transform into a wolf and sprint over to the town's square. I changed back into a human in an alley and I headed over to Hound's Den. People would kill me in an instant if they saw a wild wolf running around the plaza. Hound's Den. A shabby looking bar that was quite popular if you wanted to sell or showoff your stuff. I walked in and another message showed up on my screen.
A thief eye's your pocket. He is 13 centimeters away, he has a dagger hidden beneath his cloak and he is a Spider Monkey Neko. What do you do?
A. Ignore him
B. Scream "thief!" and run out of the bar
C. Secretly lure him away to the bathroom with charm and take him out, letting him go with a fair warning.
I smiled slyly as I clicked option C.
WolfMoon walks shyly over to the thief and flutters her long eyelashes. She walked towards the bathroom and motion with her finger for him to follow. The thief, oblivious to the danger, trips over to her, his face bright tomato red. She walks into the bathroom and she waits till he comes blundering through the door. Then she draws her dagger and hits him hard on the head with the hilt of her dagger.
I smiled. Never, ever, mess with WolfMoon. A few seconds later another message popped up.
A. Walk out of the bathroom
B. Raid his pockets then leave
C. Steal a prize then leave
Man. Today seemed like a C-day. I clicked my mouse and slowly, my character sprang back to life.
WolfMoon slipped his jacket off craftily and raided his pockets. Finds a thick book stolen from the Library of Time. Pockets that and walks out of the bathroom.
So. Where are you in the Hound's Den again FoxTail?
I typed once the event was over.
I'll give you three guesses.
Came his answer. I smiled as my character jumped to life once again.
WolfMoon walked towards the table crowded with rough looking men. Slowly, She maneuvered her way around them and a figure soon took shape. He was large and had bulky muscles. His tail was long and bushy and a flaming foxy red with a white tip. His armor consisted of a long sword and a simple metal shield with a fox paw on it. He flicked his ears towards her and smiled.
Hey WolfMoon! I thought it would take forever for you to find me! How do I look? Handsome? Cute? Hot enough to be your Boyfriend?
I snarled a teasing snarl at the screen.
In your dreams pretty boy.
WolfMoon walked closer to him and she teasingly punched his arm. A few of the men surrounding FoxTail wolf whistle. WolfMoon snarls at them.
Hey, don't mess with her guys unless you want to end up like the guy lying half dead on the bathroom floor.
Came FoxTail's reply to the event.
WolfMoon smiled a wide smile and flashed her wolf fangs at them.
Suddenly a hand wrapped around her mouth and dragged her backwards into the darkness.
I stared at the screen, my left hand shaking slightly and my forehead breaking out in sweat. Who did the hand belong to? Only one way to find out. She clicked her mouse and waited for the message to pop up.
DarkLycan has dragged WolfMoon away from FoxTail.
My fears have been relieved. I sighed slightly and my hand stopped shaking.
Hey! Where'd you go? WolfMoon? -_-
Luc's message popped up on my screen, a smiley face that looked concerned next to it.
Ummm.... Sorry FoxTail. I'm a little caught up in work. ^-^
I typed back. I waited for a few seconds before he finally responded.
Oh! I understand. Sorry to bother you.
I smiled and sighed. That's when DarkLycan's message popped up.
Are you ready?
I didn't get a chance to respond. I had barely noticed that the gentle rain outsider my window had turned into a ferocious storm. I almost screamed with anger when the power in the house shut down. My mother still hadn't come home yet. I stood up angrily and threw myself onto my bed. "What am I going to do now?" I said out loud, my voice breaking the dead silence that hung heavily in my house. I glared at my pillow. That's when I noticed the corner of a book barely visible in the corner of my eye. I stood up and walked over to my dresser and picked up the book. I smiled at the cover and sat back down on my bed, opening the cover of the page and reading the ti
tle again.
"When the Wolves Howl their Last Song"
I slowly remembered that the book was about people who turned into werewolves and werewolf hunters who strives to eliminate them. I smiled and began reading the book. Time must have p*censored*ed pretty quickly because a few hours later, I heard someone knocking on my bedroom door. "Aren, time for dinner!" Came my mother's muffled voice. I jolted at the sound of her voice and the book flopped to the floor. I stood slowly up and looked at my radio's clock. 7:30 PM. I jumped slightly at the time and raced down the stairs. "Sorry mum! I was reading a book." I said, my voice slightly weak from lack of use. She just smiled and placed a plate in front of me. "That's all right. It happens to me all the time." She said with a chuckle. I gently sniffed the air and and smiled, my eyes hiding a hint of amusement. "Spaghetti?" I asked lightly. "You have guessed correctly! Today at work, I got the strangest urge to make spaghetti tonight and you know what? As I was cooking, I started throwing in some spices! I hope you like it!" She spooned a medium sized lump of red spaghetti onto her plate and I did the same. I slowly took the first bite. My mouth overflowed with the warm and rich taste of garlic with just a hint of lemon. I beamed at my mother as I took another bite. "How is it?" She asked, her voice eager. I swallowed and nodded my head. "Brilliant!" I exclaimed. She laughed and smiled. "Good. I'm glad you like it. So! How was school today?" She asked, taking her first bite into her spaghetti. I just shrugged and took another bite. "It was alright. Luc was as crazy as ever. And every one at school was pretty nice today." Yeah, pretty nice about tripping me off the bus and chasing me in the rain. She nodded her head. " Are you finished with your homework?" I just stared at her hard. "Mom. You should know me that well by now." I said, a slight hint of amusement in my voice. "Right. Sorry. Just wanted to check." She said, a smile forming on her gentle lips. "Yes Mom I'm done my homework." I sighed. I finished up the last of my spaghetti and I stood up and walked into the kitchen. I placed it in the sink and I ran the water for a few seconds before shutting it off and returning to the table where my mom still sat with her spaghetti. "I'm going to hit the hay early tonight. Alright?" I asked, my mind not on sleeping, but actually on the game that awaited me when I entered my room. "Sure sweetheart. Don't forget, no school tomorrow. It's Saturday." She said, still eating her spaghetti and now reading a news article. I kissed her lightly on the cheek and headed upstairs and literally crashed into my chair. I sat down and realized, my computer was already on and at the site. I smiled. How ironic. I typed my p*censored*word and user name, once again, and my character showed up, now in front of a man dressed entirely in black. His eyes glinted red and a smile was on his lips. Wolf ears the color of the midnight sky flicked at my character when she appeared. I smiled and my character smiled
Let's get started.
Chapter 2
DarkLycan started walking towards the edge of the building. Today was my chance to finally prove that I was ready to become a master and evolve. DarkLycan was the instructor who determined whether or not you p*censored*ed. Fear clogged in my throat. What if I failed? I wouldn't be able to go hunting with FoxTail anymore! Shut-up! Concentrate on the answers and forget about failing! I sighed and a new message popped up.
Are you scared?
WolfMoon snarls at DarkLycan.
Then let's begin.
I gulped and prepared to jump into the fiery pits of my own personal hell.
The first question is this. A thief has been breaking into this very building and stealing precious gems. What do you do?
WolfMoon stares at DarkLycan for a few seconds.
The answer is this. Sneak behind the thief and put him in a choke hold. Demand for him to tell you where he has hidden the gems or threaten to break his neck if he doesn't. If he tells you, break his neck anyway and grab all of the gems and return to HQ.
I waited almost to eagerly for DarkLycan to reply. It took almost a full five minutes before he replied. By that time, I was literally jumping in my seat.
You're answer is..... Correct.
DarkLycan smiled at WolfMoon and he claps his hands. Suddenly, the scenery changes and they are at Orel Woods.
Next part! Your next test is this. Hunt down the mythical Shane and bring him to me. Alive.
WoflMoon just smiles at DarkLycan and transforms into a wolf. WofMoon sniffs the air with her powerful nose, separating the scent of Shane from the wood mint and pixies. Trots over to a small tree and begins to dig a hole at the base of the tree between the roots. Discovers a small cavern with a weasel that has red and black and brown in it's silky smooth pelt. WolfMoon gently grabs Shane's scruff and pulls him out of the hole and brings him to DarkLycan.
Here's your best palyer, Shane.
Shane7 wakes up with a squeak and transform's into his human form.
WolfMoon transforms into her human form.
Good job WolfMoon. Im guessing He was slacking off.
Shane7 snarls at DarkLycan.
Hey! I don't have anything else to do! Im level 100 and I've already evolved all 50 times! Give me a break!
I smiled at Shane's response. he was such a laid back character. And not to mention lazy.
Get you're skinny butt out of here! Hibernating time is over.
Was DarkLycan's reply.
Shane7 mutters something and disappears with a snap of his fingers.
No one messed with DarkLycan. If they did, they would be dead in less then the bl
ink of an eye.
