It's because of the new closet feature. Any wearable items you have automatically go to your closet, so your inventory doesn't get cluttered with them. They're still technically in your inventory though - that's why you can turn them in just fine. P:
If you wanna look at 'em for any reason, just go to the page where you change your human avatar and then click on Closet. They should all be there.
