This isn't a glitch.
When you add items to collections, it removes that item from your inventory/closet/etc and places it in the collection. If you read the little popup confirmation that comes up when you are placing the item in collections, it tells you this. =)
You can put the item back by removing it from the collection.

you miss the whole point after you add an item to the collection it should be IN the collection ....
it goes from your inventory to your collections.... if it is not in your collection it has to be in your inventory but you still have that item somewhere.....
howevere when you add an item Now it is just gone it is not in the inventory or in the collection
