Is this a glitch or a feature?

I was looking at my food pen when I realized I could click on the food just like in my inventory. It shows how much hunger points it gives and you can feed it to your active pet. But I was wondering, could this be a glitch?

Don't worry about it Jasmeena. The Food Pen has the ability to do that.

Cool! So it does that as well? I think my liking for the food pen just went up by 30%!
