How often do you use the forums?
What do you love and/or hate about them?

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
(Examples: Polls, Likes/dislikes for threads and posts, ability to give a thread/post tu, etc.)

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?

Feel free to chime in and discuss any topics brought up.

Topics:
Confusion with using the forums
Formatting issues
Edit ti
tle of thread
Clicking on thread ti
tle brings you to the latest post instead of the original post (OP)

How often do you use the forums? Not very often, I dont see much need personally.

What do you love and/or hate about them? I hate how i get confused on forums :x No idea why. xD I love how sometimes/a lot of the time they help out though!

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
Id love to see Polls :x that'd be cool xD Like a vote on stuff

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?
Not at the moment :x Although i was thinking last night to myself, Yknow how there's OAK for creatu? You should bring something out that we can design our own clothing. Not only Cash shop though D:

How often do you use the forums? Probably about average

What do you love and/or hate about them?
Love all the tools we have for editing our posts, but sometimes the formatting just doesn't want to work with me.

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
(Examples: Polls, Likes/dislikes for threads and posts, ability to give a thread/post tu, etc.)
One thing that I think would be beneficial would be the ability to edit the ti
tle of your post.

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?

I use them quite often. -pokes post count- In the past I roleplayed a lot, and I intend to get back into that habit, so I'll probably be using them even more.

What do you love and/or hate about them?
I like post counts and how you can edit things relatively easily.  However, I hate that when you click on a thread ti
tle, it goes to the latest post.  It's good in the roleplay forums where people visiting the thread know what's going on and are now only interested in the latest post, but for sales/wanted/etc, it's not.  The first post in those forums are the main ones, and it's usually updated with what's being sold/bought.  It's not a major inconvenience but it would be nice if threads in those forums could be linked to the first post.

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
I like polls.  Like/dislikes, not so much.  Editing titles would be great since then I wouldn't feel the need to make a new thread if I sell one of, say, five ti
tle-mentioned items in the sales forums.

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?
There should be an option to hide/show other players' signatures or HAs.

@Bunny:
Are there any other sites you go on to comment that are less confusing (Facebook, Reddit, another pet site..)?

Design your own clothing is a great idea.
I've been also considering ways for players to obtain custom items without having to pay real money. We have goals to be more innovative with Res' currency.

@Ima:
Agreed, the formatting needs work. ti
tle editing, yes. I think I will note these topics in the OP.

@Reeses:
The latest unread post as the thread link is quite annoying. I'd like to do the more traditional idea of original post for the link and another link somewhere to get to the latest post.

I suspect that having an option to hide/show other players' signatures or HAs would have to be an account preference rather than a thread preference that is seen by everyone.
That's just my first impression though. I'm open to more thoughts/ideas on this.

@Bunny:
I don't think we've discussed the idea of retiring OAKs anytime soon. If we are, it will be said beforehand. :>
I'm unsure about the Casino games. Will have to find out.

Yes, the account preference is what I meant. ^^ I didn't mean to imply that it would be the choice of the original poster for that thread.

How often do you use the forums?
To be honest when I rejoined in December I hardly used them. I did a few roleplays, sales, that's about it.
I used to always be on the shoutbox. Some people will probably remember that.
Now I only go on to help people and sell stuff.
To me the forums need more "pizazz" or something to drag more people in.

What do you love and/or hate about them?

I have to say I love the fact that there are so many different places you can speak and chat.
The only thing I dislike is that there is an art commissions forum.
Even though writing commissions could probably go there, nobody does.
I would like it if there was a writing commissions forum, even though it's not as big as art.

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
I'd like if there was a "like" button for posts. It'd be handy in the suggestions forum.
One person could make a good point and there could be a nice debate without it getting all...eugh.
Polls...eh a nice feature but I can see drama coming from this...
Unless they are made by staff or something. Like, what event do you want to have? etc
I'd also like to edit the titles of my threads. One because people make mistakes.
Also, people wouldn't have to get threads deleted because of a typo.
I'd also like a "grant permission to have control over thread" option.
Some people do partner art commissions, sales, etc.
It'd be nice to be able to do that. Of course, the user would do that at their own risk.

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?
Ehhh I'd love the thought of custom clothing, but it'd be kind of unfair if it was only the user that requested it got it.
I'd love a one month suggestions thread, and the artists could maybe make some new clothing that everyone could purchase in the Fashion Galore or something.

I use the forums pretty regularly, but my only gripe about them is the fact that you can't get alerts while you're sifting through pages. Unlike when you're on pages when your account sidebar shows up. I would like to see some way to have an alert pop up while you're moving through the forums. ^^

How often do you use the Forums?~ /pokes at post count/... yeah. I've only seen a few very old users with more posts than myself, and it's only been a year too. I'm practically addicted, and I often poke into every single area and just Forum surf :D Sometimes I never even post, just read things. Old things too, I like reading about Res's history.

What do you love/hate about them?~ I hate not being able to change titles. I know it's already been addressed, but if there was anything I would change, it would be that.

Would you like to see them integrated with more features?~ Not the tu thing. That could go really bad. I also think that individual posts could use a Like button, but a dislike button could stir up anger. And be a tool for trolls :c Polls sound really cool too c:

Any other thoughts, gripes, or opinions?~Subforums. You have no idea how much I have wanted subforums, especially in the Market area. Instead of grouping everything together, in art you could have "Art Sales" or "Selling Art" or a selling pets subforum and selling items subforum in the sales area. Then buying, omg subforums would help so much ;o;
It would also be useful in rps, because you could have a different area for private or open. It would be so nice ^-^

How often do you use the Forums?
I just came back, and I don't really use it. I don't think I ever used it often when I first joined. I believe I was more of the Lurker as a kid. I'd like to use a lot more of it now, but some posts are very old and I don't want to necropost, as mentioned in the rules.

What do you love/hate about them?
I can't say what I like about it much, but I've grown a liking to the involvement and interaction of communities through forums in general. I just wish it wasn't so cluttered with old posts. Maybe after a thread has been made and no one has replied in a month or two, it could be locked and deleted. I just think the forums is due for a clean-up. If they're not to be deleted, they could be locked and placed in a separate category as active ones, like an Archive of sorts.

Would you like to see them integrated with more features?
Hm. What kind of features, I wonder? Reading Meg's above sounds like good ideas. I, for one, think a feature where you can hide large files such as images within a drop down box would be pretty useful in keeping posts shorter rather than having to scroll through everything. Kind of like a Spoilers button. I've seen those in many different forums and keeping images like art commissions would be a great way to organize for users.

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?
Rewards or achievements for posting would be a great way to get the community to post more. I know that comes with the risk of people spamming, but I think that with the rules of no double posting, no three-word posts, etc. would still help police the amount of spam in forums. The TU one I think is a great idea. Maybe just small amounts per post. It would really help.

How often do you use the forums?
Not Much tbh, mostly because I have trouble when I try to use it

What do you love and/or hate about them?
It needs serious recoding, most links are broken or invisible, and formatting is kind of buggy sometimes. Also signatures need a size limit, I saw one user had so many images that it made their post unreadable

Would you like to see them integrated with more little features?
Polls would be interesting but first I think it needs a makeover

Any other thoughts, gripes or opinions?
I think it might be better to switch to bbcode, I think it's more understandable to the average person. Also I have no idea what the difference between Artist Studio and showcase are, and maybe their could be some sort of usermade guide section?

(Note I realize this thread is old, but it's posted by an admin, so idk)
