I just recently got back from a hiatus, but I'd like to share some insight.
General Content
There are a few points that have been brought up already, and a lot of users seem to agree that the site gets boring. I'm currently having fun right now, but I can see how people would find it boring. Right now, every day, it's the same thing: hatch my 3 eggs, visit dailies such as the apple tree, springs and stocks, play the very few games that give TU and that's it. It would get tedious and repetitive.
Now, don't get me wrong; I love the dailies idea. It gives users a purpose to come back every day. But if that is all there is to do, besides lurk in the forums, we're not getting much content. I'd like to give some suggestions on what could be added to give a variety of things to do around Rescreatu.
Economy/Games
In regards to the economy, making TU is limited to selling pets and items because the games reward you a maximum of maybe 100k-200k every day, and that's only in Luck based games since the other games don't seem to reward you with as much TU.
There is a link to a Casino that isn't even functional as well. With the inflated prices of user shops and rancher shops, it gets hard for new users to get started.
I briefly remember the Flash games also having actual purpose, but no matter which browser I try the flash games don't reward players for playing them anymore. I don't know if that is a glitch on my side, but that ruins the whole purpose of having the flash games anyway. With no rewards, no one will play them. They're obsolete. I say bring back sending scores to gain TU.
A new game idea could be in the knowledge section, related to books, because I notice that each book has quite a read to them anyway. I love reading those, but I think with all that content, it would be great to have a game which lets you name a book where a certain event happened, or where something is discussed in that book. Like, say, the book 100 Reasons Why We Like Res. A hint in the game could be, "Lists many different features about the world of Rescreatu," or something along those lines. There are plenty of books in the website; I think putting this game in play would encourage others to read the books too.
I know there also used to be a Book Writing Competition, which is great, so continuing that would add more and more community content over time.
Pet Features
Some main topics I find important are the pets. The pets are the reason why I come back, really. I'd love to start collecting them, one by one. I'm sure everyone does. But I also think it's a good idea to give pets more functionality rather than just taking a dip in the springs and picking from an apple tree.
Battle System
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see an arena or a battle coliseum open. I would assume it's the giant dome in Reiflem, but you can't even access it. I even read further above in this forum that there was a battle feature coming soon, but it hasn't yet. Maybe I'm just impatient, I think that should be brought back, and reward the users with TU when beating NPC enemies. A quest NPC that asks you to beat certain targets in a battle would give more variety to the item-retrieving quests that already exist. Maybe even two different quest NPCs, one for beginner battlers and one for more seasoned veterans.
This also ties in with the Pet Features category in which there are stats for pets, but no real solid way to raise them nor use them. Intellect, I know you raise with how much books they've read, which is good. If not for the battling system, the stats could be even be used in new random events where a pet might be able to succeed in skill checks (Strength check, Intellect check, Agility check) to gain a specially larger reward than just finding TU. Maybe an item? Maybe a level increase? There are many possibilities the stats could be touched on. I don't believe they have to be anything too special because I just think giving the stats more functionality would be a good idea.
I brought up the above part because I've grown to be a huge fan of DnD and roleplaying games in general. Giving the website more roleplaying elements that involves the pets could very well make it more interesting around here.
Maps/Worlds
Where do I begin with this? Haha. I find that the maps are very lacking in content. I see many areas in the map that give the option to click for no reason, and would just send you back to the top of the page. I'm sure those had features back in the earlier days but haven't been touched on since. That said, it's been a long while since those have been featureless, don't you think? I made this account back in 2012, and I think this was generally the same since then. I don't even really remember much of back then, either.
There is a Job Token Shop, but no Job Tower functioning. There are Battle Gear with, again, no Battle System. Furnishings don't see any sales because any housing links are forbidden (correct me if I'm wrong, but it could be restricted to home planets, which doesn't seem fair for other planets with no housing). Adagu City promises a good time, but there isn't even an image to see it, much less do anything in.
Even a little heads up that the areas are under construction could be helpful, and can keep users in anticipation for something coming soon.
Maybe once those empty areas are given a function, some can even be unlocked through skill checks? Like moving a boulder out of the way with a Power check, or having an elite book store in Scria where you can only access after having your selected pet with a high enough Intellect, or in the cave at Relcore Markets, it could be explored with random events inside, like a falling stalactite or a wild Creatu which could be dodged or outran with a high enough Agility.
Just giving the maps all the more reason to explore, like it tells you in the top bar.
Events
I haven't been back long enough to see events the past few months, but it's great that they keep coming back with these seasonal events for players to do. Like I said, I haven't seen many, and I never really participated fully in any even before I left for hiatus, so I won't really touch on this until I see more and experience what they're like.
There is so much that can be improved on the website in terms of content, and I know it would be a lot of work to add content, so it would come slowly. I don't know budgets or how much is really invested in the website, but if it is going to see its glory days again, a bit of tweaking and innovation can make it successful. A little dwarf once told me, hard work pays off.
Other Notes
I also read the facebook page for news and updates, and I like that the website is taking action for inactive accounts in the coming year. The poor neglected pets in showrooms of inactive users have great names that the new generation of users should be able to access.
Pets in inactive users' showrooms could even be released into the Atqueen forest at small amounts, to give exploration more zest. The past few days I've visited the forest, I hadn't found anything, which is either because of my bad luck, or that it really isn't being used anyway.
Even Users with creatus in their graveyards seem like a total loss, as many could potentially even be neglected retireds. It would be nice to have a public graveyard to explore like the Atqueen forest to find unnamed/abandoned pets to resurrect as well.
In general I just think all pets deserve to be at least adopted/resurrected by someone who still wants to play and is willing to put the time in it.
Keep in mind, I'm implying that this public Graveyard would only display dead pets of inactive users of six years, as the facebook page mentioned. That's only fair, so that active users who had taken breaks but accidentally let some pets die in the meantime can still resurrect their own pets.
I know I've only been back about a week or so, but here are my two cents. I wrote more than I expected to, but that's just because I would really like to see more content in this website. I love the pets and I know it has potential. I really like it compared to other pet sites, because it's the only site I've found that allows you to keep a large amount of pets in a showroom or gallery. Here's to hoping there will be more content soon.
