I was flipping out tonight when I realized my black Jahra, my albino Shaefu, and my natural Galta were all missing. I checked the graveyard, and sure enough, there they were. I swore I had food in the food pen, but when I checked, it turns out I didn't. I can pay the 1.5mil for all three potions, but it scared me quite a bit when I couldn't find them. I personally think it would save a lot of worry and TU if we were alerted when the food ran out.

Any support?

Support. It's funny really, your idea made me remember to check my food pen. And yes, it was empty!

No support here, and there's a good reason why (at least I think it's good!).

This game is largely centered around keeping users involved and active on the site. Some things are necessary to receive alerts of course, like Rmail, subsc[injection]ription notifications, and auction notifications. Those are all things that require more immediate action; they are activities that are performed on a daily basis and/or involve competition with other players.

If we keep adding alerts for everything, pretty soon the site isn't gonna be much fun, everything will just end up being "oh, alert, time to do XYZ, blah..."

It takes 10 days in dying status before a pet hits the grave. That means that if your pen runs out of food and your pets are at 70 hunger, you have approximately 17 days before those pets go into the grave. There is no reason that we can't take a quick trip to our profiles and check the status of a pet's hunger once every week or two, and check the food pen to see if it is indeed still stocked.

Making an alert to let you know the pen is out of food just seems to take something away from the game; this is about interaction with virtual pets, after all. =)

You make a good point, 14BM.

But, I'm not very active on the site. I come on once and a while, say hi, and then I log off. I'm really not into the whole creatu thing. I have literally three creatu on my profile, and I usually just dump a buttload of food into my pen and call it good. I never really know how much I put in there, but it can last months or weeks. I don't ever think to check, because like I said, "creatu" really aren't my thing.

There's the showroom, but Juliette, Sanity and Abused are too pretty for that. ;~;

I understand what you are saying, but even if you only pop on twice a month you'd be fine, especially if you're dumping in tons of food.

As stated previously, one of the goals of the site is to keep the users active. It wouldn't make sense to add features that encouraged less activity. More traffic to the site = more revenue for the site. =)

**EDIT: And as a side note, if you aren't on the site, you wouldn't know about the alert until ya came back anyway silly!

Broken, I don't think your understanding my point. I am on every day, I just never think to check. That's all.
