B-days on profile

How come we can't see when people's birthdays are? What if we want to send a person a b-day present? I don't need to see year (I don't care really how old they are) just month and day, that way there isn't a privacy problem because it wouldn't be showing their age. So my suggestion is that you add an option to show your birthdate (minus the year) and it would be the same one you used to make your account, so if you faked it (which most people did, including me, except same year) you would have the wrong birthday on your page. Anyway, does this sound like a good idea?

Also, the option would also say you wouldn't have to.

I'm all for this, and maybe the respals of that user get a (optional )notification a week or so before the day (or oN the day) to remind them? :)

I think it is more a privacy issue than anything else. Most people don't use their real birthdate when signing up anyway, so it may also cause some confusion and possibly accusations of being untruthful. I guess you could say that birthdays fall under the 'personal information' category.

What I would like to see though, is an option that sends an active user a birthday greeting and a little gift automatically on their birthday. That would be pretty awesome, right? :D

Also, I think we need the ability to send birthday cards that allow us to write a personalized message on them. Or at least a choice of messages from a drop-down menu.

Is it still a privacy issue if it doesn't include the year?

Also, it would be up to the user. They could click either option. No one would be making them put it up there.

I'd say so. But I didn't register with my real birthday anyway.
(year's right, not the actual month/day)

I like the auto option Broken suggested though. Like,

"Happy Birthday _________! Hope you have a great day!

A gift has also been sent to your inventory.
 
                       -Rescreatu"

I'd like the option to have it or not. Some people don't want gift-spam. xD

I prefer Broken's idea to the whole "being shown on profiles" thing c: I honestly can't remember if I signed up with the correct birthday, and if someone really wants to know it they can ask. xD
A little automated Res message and gift is a nice idea though. And cards would be neat too uwu

An option to change the date once is an idea to consider. But not more than that just so someone doesn't get like 365 gifts a year xD

The option to hide is also something to consider, although I think it would be best if it were disabled by default rather than enabled. That would solve any privacy concerns because you would have to intentionally enable it and save the changes.

Yeah that's a good idea :o I wouldn't mind having my birthday publicly on my profile but I'm sure others would mind. Toggling would be a great option to have. So I support that as well ~

I think, personally, the best option would be to allow users to show it to anybody if they want to, but also an option to show only to respals or not at all.

I don't think it'd be a bad idea for month and day. It'd be cool to see the date. And I like the system-auto gift thing and such c:

I do not support the including of the year, though. for privacy issues and such
