I know you can delete your own blog, and report and all, but what if you don't want to start your blog out all over again. I'd very much like it if we are able to delete ALL posts, even posts by others in your own blogs, only. This way people can delete out arguments, and bashings and spam.

I, personally, am not sure I support this.
As an example, say two users got into an argument and started name calling. Or another user spammed.
Staff members need to know about this, and some people would just delete the comments, or they'd send in a support ticket even though we can't do anything without proof.
No support.

I feel that if you're able to remove certain comments, it doesn't make the blog area a discussion area. If you don't like what others are saying in a polite argument, you can just delete their comments. It kind of oppresses the other users for their own opinions.
If things are getting out of hand, you should, of course, report it and leave it at that. Staff will handle it, but if you really dislike others' posting disagreeing opinions on your blogs, don't make them, or delete them.
There is no limit on how many blogs you post, either. So I don't really see the need for this on the site.

No support from me, sorry.
Why would you want to delete a comment you don't want there? It's like saying you put up a question blog and someone says something you just completely don't like the one person's answer at all, so you just delete it. It's like saying you can't have your own opinion. You have to match mine. :/ Which not everyone is like.
And if someone is bashing you on your own blog, just delete it. :/ If it gets out of hand, then report...it's not that hard, dear. |D

in general no support
Maybe the option to hide comments instead of deleating them?

I support this option. The report button is already there, and believe me, it is used quickly and with vigor when anything needs reporting.
Blogs are less of a discussion area than they are an area to BLOG...and every blog on the web has the ability to moderate its comments. Blogs are more for the person who created them than the people reading them; a way to express thoughts and feelings, memorialize a moment, etc.
If it were forums, I'd say no, but blogs, yes, we need the ability to moderate comments on our own blog entries.

Actually, I completely agree with broken. I will not say any names nor complain, but one time I had a blog where I wanted a simple yes or no answer, and it started a huge conversation (or argument, it could be considered either) with some people. I finally just got tired and deleted the blog. I really only wanted to know something simple, something completely easy that you could totally disregard if you didn't agree with my blog, but it didn't turn out that way when I wish it could. I think that discussion caused a lot of unwanted tension between the people I argued with, and I don't want anyone on Res not to like me, but I'm not sure those tensions will ever go away, when they could have been avoided with a simple click of a button.
Whoa... got off track there. Anyways, support.
