What about a praying mantis creatu? I'd love to see how that could turn out. Or maybe a ladybug? Or how about one of those water skimmer thingies, like what Surskit is based from?

What if the creatu was a cross between say, a lily pad with a water lily on top, and a jellyfish? The lily pad's roots could be seeweedlike tentacles, and you could do something fancy with the actual top pad of the plant, perhaps have the flower petals be really long, and curve down to form a dome on top of the plant for a head or something?
I'm not sure if this post makes much sense, as my creative rambles are a little out of order I suppose xD |

I think the 'Botanist Quest' creatu, if integrated, should have to do something solely with gardens, not fish and other marine animals. After all, it is all about flowers and gardening. Even if this is on Atquati, in my opinion we should stick to what the quest itself is all about. If you're doing all this stuff with flowers to get the creatu, why would you want something that has nothing to do with them?
I think something to do with bees or other agriculture-associated animals would be the best way to go. After the Noctis has come out, we aren't really in the need for something along the lines of a snake, but for a moment I'd like to point out that even if we have plenty of insect creatu, there are other types of creatures that can be connected or related to gardens. Like was said, having something that doesn't stick along the lines of any one species would be great. Our artists are fantastic as it is, I can't see it being that hard for them to throw something completely unique at us.
I'm not all that great at this whole reasoning-writing-down thing, as my mind works differently than others' on so many levels that it isn't even funny. But I hope you guys can at least see and understand my point. All and all, I would go for this completely if we could get away from the marine idea. Feel free to add anything I may have missed. xD

That's pretty extreme, Merboy. o3o There are plenty of aquatic Creatu already. Cort just explained why a plant-related, not aquatic Creatu would make perfect sense.
I agree the Creatu should be more focused on being related to the quest, not necessarily the planet the quest is based on, plus since the quest is in the forest anyways, what would some sort of aquatic Creatu even be doing there? I'm in full support of a living-plant Creatu. :3

I'm still a firm "no" on the water creatu bit, for every reason previously stated. It just doesn't fit for the Gardening Quest, not when there are so many other interesting creatu that DO fit. (Again...Atqueen FOREST. Not Atqueen SWAMP.)
Can you imagine the colors with a slug? It could be really interesting, as they're almost iridescent. And you could have spots or other varying patterns on each color. Same with the whole "walking plant" thing...the color possibilities make me giddy. But I really lean towards the slug, just to see what the artists would do with the facial ex

As rude as I am prepared for this to sound, there really is no way for you to "compromise", merboy, simply due to the fact that it really isn't up to you alone. You can offer the idea of the aquatic animals, but we are perfectly free to make suggestions for different types of animals as well.

Merboy, if you ever do come back to read this I think their 'rudeness' is completely justifiable (sorry). Your suggestion wasn't really related to the initial suggestion in the first place. You should of made a completely new thread for your own suggestion rather than trying to divert the whole idea of this one. I find it a bit rude that you're trying to take over this thread. Your idea really has no justification for being on this thread. That's like saying that this whole idea has to follow what you want. You're trying to narrow down everything to what you want. To save yourself from the hurt of having your idea constantly knocked down, why don't you make a new thread?

The slug may work since they tend to have some sort of floral component to it (the weird flower thing on the back. I used to know what it was called but I forgot). They colours may work since it's similar to ones you would see in a flower. However, I'm not fond of the whole 'take an animal from real life, slightly manipulating it and making it a creatu' sort of deal. Furthermore, as a designer, I don't think there's much room for work on this animal. Really, anything I could think of just looks like a normal sea slug from real life or something from Final Fantasy (which I don't think is appropriate for res). If the res artists can think of something, sure thing. But I don't think it's the best idea we have on the table at the moment.
