I have been very curious about this since I have joined.
Offsite trading, in my opinion, can play a very big part in keeping sites afloat and relevant. While, yes, it is a bit scary for players to just come and go to trade out currency, there will always be those who stick around to keep playing res, but those who come and go, would have to (including our 500 user userbase!)
Though, I think this is a well structured site, and a lot of folks would like it!
I also think that allowing offsite trading will get folks from other sites interested in Res and come check it out! To be completely honest, I first found Res from someone mentioning one of the pets (gondra, I think). I haven't ever heard of Res in passing since then.
Of course there are concerns with users taking stuff and running, but with most sites I've seen that allow offsite trading, that normally constitutes a suspension or ban from one or both sites (which is pretty reasonable, I think).
Also, I think trading for other site currency that can be converted to real money, such as DA points, should be a no no.
I like this. Honestly every single other game i play allows for you to trade outside currency. I have always found it odd that res is so against it. (at least when i joined way back when they were super against it. like you couldn't even mention it against it.)
I would LOVE it. I have some pretty valuable pets and I NNEEEDDD Furvilla and ChickenSmoothie stuff. Besides that, I have some FlightRising dragons who need a good home that I would totally trade for Tesuris.
Either way, it was always bizarre to me too that Res didn't allow trading off-site. I can get like 'don't trade your creatus for dA points or Amazon stuff' but not 'don't trade your creatu for a snazzy hat in Animal Jam' or something.

Thank you for the support! Haha, yeah, it is a great risk and there's only much staff can do to discourage scams, so lets hope none of our lovely Res users would do such a thing ^^'

Yup! No trading for money or stuff that can be converted to money!
I like this idea. I don't really play many sites other than Res, but I do log into LioDen occasionally and it would be nice to be able to trade for cute muties on there. I've never quite understood why off-site trading is so frowned upon. As long as there are strict rules in place, I don't see an issue with it.
