I was thinking that users are very cut off from other users, and can only really meet new people in the forums. So why not add contact links above the avatar to make meeting new people easier! Like having little icons near the human avatar. These would include average things like: "Send a Rmail, Send a friend request, View posts, View Collections, etc"

You can also meet new users in the SB if you're over thirteen.
Although I do see the advantage to having something like a send friend request or send rmail link on the forums (because otherwise you have to copy their username and go to Rmail or Respals), it's not really impossible to do things as they are now.
Viewing posts currently isn't available in any way though. I don't think Pat's given us a solid yes or no on that suggestion.
However too many icons can become overcrowded. Quite honestly, I think the Human Avatar already stretches things a lot. I mean, look at your post. Your actual message isn't even half the size of your post, even with your signature.
Over all, though, I'm not really against or for this.

But I see your point that the HA area is kind of crowded. Maybe add it vertically (at least the Rmail and friend request) next to the small forum icon? Not totally sure, but some kind of contact icons would be nice when meeting some new people ^^;
