Illnesses for pets

The pharmacy is pretty useless beyond filling up some collections and getting certain items for certain recipes

So maybe illnesses to spice things up?

Not sure if it would be possible with the battle system, but each illness could affect a stat (e.g. a cold could affect strength, overgrown nails reduce speed by, say, 10%, but increase strength by 5% because nails hurt, a fever could cause a pet to lose 20 hunger a day instead of 10, and so on)

Pets would be more likely to get diseases if they get hungry or bored (finally a use for playing with a creatu!)

To add to that, instead of fleas, a pet could be afflicted with a flea-like Creatu. When they have the condition, upon curing there could be a small chance (5%?) of getting one of the eggs for incubating and hatching

Of course, not every pet can get every disease. In fact, I'd bet none of them could get every disease. RSTUs would naturally be immune to all normal diseases. Maybe they could have one or two glitches instead



Summary:

-Pets can get diseases
-If possible, diseases can affect stats and even how fast a pet gets hungry or bored
-The hungrier and more bored a pet is, the easier it is for them to get ill
-Flea-like creatu can have their eggs rarely gathered if a pet has fleas and is cured
-Different diseases and disease catch rates for different pets, with some overlaps

Yeah, I wish illnesses would come back too ;w; Bushy Eyebrows, Overgrown Toenail etc.

Creatu illness should definitely be back once things are ironed out. I like the little suggestions about it and how you managed to tie them up with other site features. I would love to here more thoughts about this.

I think this would be a good use for using the pharmacy more often, support. But for the pets that were hatched before they add in the possibility of pets getting illnesses again, what would happen too them?

Holiday, those pets would still be effected. ^^ Things that are added to the site still affect all creatu, whether or not they were born after the addition. Revamps will still affect a creatu born in 2009 for example, won't they? c:

Working on examples of illnesses. Here's a quick example I wrote up of an illness I'm sure everybody would expect to see:

Legend:
- Lowers a little
-- Lowers a moderate amount
--- Lowers greatly
+ Raises a little
++ Raises a moderate amount
+++ Raises greatly
Hunger and Emotion use - to state the new rate of loss per day

Cold
Cure: Tissue Box. Also, if possible, any soup based food has a 10% chance of curing the cold
Affects:
-Power
-Agility
Species: Any non aquatic, non avian, non robotic pet can come down with this illness with an equal chance of getting it
Deion: The common cold. Everybody gets one of these now and then. A little love, care, some tissues, and maybe a bowl of soup usually clears it right up, though!

Great ideas! I like the idea that happiness and hunger would be affected if a Creatu is ill.
I will be referring to this when I take another look into our illnesses design.

Illnesses were a pain in the butt, but now that they're gone, I miss them.

Having creatu illnesses definitely had its perks back in v1, like the Geeky Glasses avatar.

I also support for them to come back and to tie them in with other things around the site.
