Hmm just a few thoughts as a respond to Grave and others;
Maybe the problem with not been able to view several categories and so on, should rather be solved by upgrading and doing new coding on the showrooms, rather than entirely new showrooms.
I think if res where to make coding for 3 or more showrooms for each user, it would be quite the work (as well as taking space on the server I think). And Im VERY much against the idea of a showroom for "sales" pets. I think it's important not to cross the line between rancher and merchant. And if you really own that many "other" pets, maybe you should think about selling them or revising why you have them.
For the sanctuary/adoption and hoarding ideas; I see a point in them, but I rather think people shoud be using the categories as ashdog suggested.
And with this is meant no offense; but this is a petsite after all, not a site of who can hoard the most pets. If you have so many pets that you do not know where they are and what they are, then are you really enjoying having them?
Of course, I only have some 200 pets, so maybe I just havent seen/felt the problem yet - but thinking of all the coding and work that would have to be done, (and it could be quite confusing for new or younger users) I will say no support :(
(please don't take this personally, I wasnt trying to offend or make critique of anyone c: )
EDIT: a little more constructive critisism c; what about creating something like subcategories? then hoarders could divide their pets into different and yet the same categories, and if you had like, many fiction names you could divide them into these subcategories, still under one category.
Also a name search bar like the one we have in our inventory would be really nice, and/or the possibility to view pets by a certain starting letter - making showroom search easier.
