I think it would be really awesome if this pangolin went in a more Sarawakian direction rather than East Asian. Because Pangolins are from South East Asia. Also, we have a few creatu that look East Asian (you can even see that the new NPCs are Japan/China/Korea like as well). Oh yeah, pangolins are from South East Asia bros, do it'd be appropriate to explore such ideas. .
Here are a few pictures for inspiration:

Those are not just Sarawakian designs mind you. There are some designs in there from the Murut tribe and Penan tribe in there too. I could help with this because I flippin live in Borneo, the island in which Sarawak is located in.
I think it would also be cool to share ideas for Asian countries that aren't always in the limelight. Like, I doubt many of you have heard of Brunei unless I tell you or you (have) live(d) in South East Asia. These tribes (such as Penan and Murut) are dying (as in more people in tribes are moving to a modern way of life and are no longer nomadic) by the way. It would be awesome to let people know more about their aestetic. And as I mentioned before, I think it's a great idea to pay homage to the pangolin's country of origin as this is the root of the design.
If you want more information about these things, just ask me. I'm afraid I don't have the time to attempt a redesign of your pangolin thing though.
Also, the problem with Chinese new year is that the date changes every year. I'm sure the res staff will find it hard to keep a track of. Just to clarify, lunar new year is big in most of East Asia (the extent of how big it is reaches all the way to Vietnam and other SEA countries).
It may seem contradictory that I'm trying to stop people from Chineseifying something because I'm normally the one that tries to Chineseify things. But I'm not just Chinese, I'm Malaysian (I am not nonya. I am pure Chinese blooded, but the descendant of Chinese immigrants to Malaysia, just need to put this out because a lot of people ask me) as well and I think a Sarawakian aestetic would be more appropriate.
Oh yeah, I'm not a big fan of the wings. It seems that what most pet sites do is just slap wings on a normal animal (Albeit, it's not just a pangolin with dragonfly wings, the idea has been played around with a bit). But still. I don't really like the wings because it just makes it look 'cheaper' (if you understand what I'm saying). It think it would be cool if this design could work with the pangolin thing rolled up. So ditch the wings because it won't really work with it rolled up. Like, dragonfly wings are fragile and any predator would be able to rip them off.
I know they are found in Afrca. But the origin of it's name is even from the Malay language:
'The name "pangolin" derives from the Malay word
pengguling ("something that rolls up").'
But I think it would also work if we did African designs on a creatu.
Y'know what I think would set res apart from other sites? Culture. If we had more 'cultural' pets that aren't just your cliche ones like Chinese or soemthing, it would be interesting. ;D
(by the way, if there are other sites that are like how I described above. Please don't list them, I don't want people argueing over other sites when it's not really necessary. I don't play many pet sites so I'm ignorant. But nonetheless, if I am wrong, listing the sites won't help anyways. Just say 'yeah bro you were wrong, there are other sites like this' and leave it at that. Naming the sites won't help with anything and only create trouble as people like to compare and condemn here. I just figured this would be a good idea to address our culturally diverse community and stuff. Is all.)
