It'd be cool if people could make their own avatars, or at least sometimes there could be a special rare one that you can personalize. What do ya think? Please tell me if you like the idea everyone! Allons-y!!!!

Lol, clearly the opinion I'm about to state isn't going to make a difference, but I feel I should state it anyway. I actually don't like this idea (it's a great idea, don't get me wrong, I just don't like it for Res). I've always seen personal avatars as something for the staff and the staff alone, something to commemorate them after they've been on the team for a while and show them thanks. If everyone could add them it wouldn't be special anymore, not to mention someone might upload something inappropriate or that has to do with another site or that someone could see as religious or whatever, there's just too many variables. And staff can't moderate everything that's put out there. Now, if this thread is talking about human avatars (and I have a feeling that's what Uwi was talking about but I'm not sure about the thread in general), then that whole speech goes out the door and I say sure, why not.

Maybe, instead of putting up your own images (like one of your fersona, ect), you can just use a particular Creatu at a particular stage and colour, or an item, for the foreground image of your avatar? You can choose background and text colour, along with the letters' positions. This is just a suggestion to maybe lighten or improve the subject. |

Yeah, I'm talking about human avatars. o3o; There's already various examples of them. As for actual avvies avatars, like on forums, I agree with Wolf. |

Well, what I actually meant was that maybe someone could like not upload things, but instead they could choose from flowers, music notes and stuff like that. Not getting stuff from other sites

I have to disagree with this idea, for reasons that have already been stated by wolfspi. And I also have to add my own opinion in. If we were allowed to create our own avatars, there wouldn't really be a point in collecting the avatars that are available. The users of this site would go with their personas, or fursonas over the Res avatars. And I really couldn't blame them, because I would do the same thing. But I don't want the Avatars to become obsolete(sp) and the available avatars are really awesome. D: It would be a shame to see them not used. And that's what I think. Edit: Plus we can already custom signatures.
I have to get this thing to level 1,000. Please, help.

I agree with that, I never thought of it that way. But as I said maybe It could be like a super rare thing that only like 6 out of 300 people could get. Just an idea

I say custom picture avatars left just for staff is great as it is. It makes them look more powerful and have more authority >)

Disagree. You see, users may use this chance to break the rules, such as, put in pictures which users as young as 7 years old are forbidden to see. Also, mods would not stand out from the rest anymore. |
