hello!
if you've ever used the Pet Auctions, you've probably both been a victim of and a user of the snatching method; waiting until the last 30 seconds or so of the auction being open and try to get your bid in very last, while a few other people are certainly doing the same thing.
while i do this too because it's the easiest way to get good pets for cheap, i think it needs to be changed! i rarely see pets in auctions receive what they're worth for this reason; why bother jacking up the price if you can just sit and wait until the very last second, and get that albino chimby for 2mil because everyone else had the same thought?
aside from that, i know it is frustrating for people who have lives and cant be on res every second to monitor auctions they have interest in.
i suggest that a new bid towards the end (within the last hour or so, maybe) increases the time the auction will run. for example, if the auction is set to end at 12:00pm and there is a bid placed at 11:59am, the new auction end time could be 12:59pm.
the issue is see with this is that maybe the user who put their pet up for auction actually wants it to end at that time so they can get their tu, regardless of where it's at, and not have to wait an extra day because a bidding war ensues. there could be features to deal with this; selecting a maximum end time when putting their pet up, with this information being withheld from the public.
on the other hand, this could maybe be resolved if users would set their minimum bid to something the pet is actually worth.
let me know what you think!
