i don't like 'em at all. really, i don't see any problems with the old system. The pet deions under the pets instead of the full pages. advantages to this: - it's easier to leave a quick note, such as holding for nortriker; name is japanese for cookies; trying to bean silver; not for sale; or any other number of short, spontaneous things.
- more people will see it. Nobody's going to go to that pet page thing because most people really don't care. But if there's anything that people should see on it, such as "mascot pet for my party, join us now! [link]" it might be nice tohave people simply glance over it.
- clutter was not an issue. With the 200 character limit, admittedly, space was not unlimited, but it was nearly impossible to have endless and irritating pet deions.
disadvantages to the new system: - css seems to be disabled. I can't even copy-paste the pet deions that i saved in a wordpad document into the new pet page html boxes. I expected to have a degree of customization similar to that of my profile. Even neopets had that, last i checked.
- the pet pages are utterly pointless because no one's going to bother to go to them anyway.
- it's silly to spend time making an entire page for one pet, so i don't think most people will even bother.
next issue: the one-at-a-time style of viewing pets on a profile. Again, there was not a problem with the old style.
advantages to this: - it was easier to scroll through pets to simply get a quick idea of a person's interests/wealth.
- personally, i found it interesting to see where each pet was placed in relation to the others.
disadvantages to the new system: - half the time, i click the "next" button and nothing happens.
- it takes too long.
- it's like looking through a keyhole. Impossible to see everything at once, which is what we (or i, at least) prefer.
- again, no one is going to take the time to go through all of the pets on someone's page. It's too much of a has.Sle.
and another thing. The new system of selecting pets is a huge has.Sle. Clicking through each individual pet until i find the one i just hatched, selecting it, zapping it to adult, and putting it in my shop is incredibly unwieldy. It's becoming a chore that may not be worth the reward of potentially having that pet purchased. Likewise, feeding my pets is going to be an aggravating task that takes far too much time. i'd kill to see the old pet management page come back. Think of it like a quick-stock feature for pets.
for my final point, the fact that no one will bother to look at these things takes away the entire point of having pets at all. For me, the game is much less fun and interesting. The few people to whom i have mentioned this agree with me.
i hope a few changes is put into place, preferably changes back to the old system.
edit: also, can we get rid of these capitalization things? My pet names are all messed up, and my forum posts are constantly tampered with.

i agree i hate how you have to click the 'next' button and for me half the time it won't do a thing. And i hate the pet pages i still make them but now my dragons won't get veiws yes i used my pets as dragon sitters. I totaly agree with it that ppl won't look at each individual pet page. And what about the ppl who paid for pet banners, what if the paid like 100k no one will get to look at it beacuse they dont want to got to each pet page. And also i don't even feed my pets anymore cus i dont know how usualy i would click on the pet and go to my inventory and feed them and go to the next pet now i can't cus well its confusing and i dont feel like pressing next all day long. And it doesn't tell you how hungry they are like 90/100 full now it just says full or satisfied. And with the pet pages again i used to keep music on that! And another not a problem like this but my sepia uilus dissapeared yesterday! Her name was fantaji i loved her.

I think the main reason they did this was to prevent overlays ect. People faked albinos and stuff. But i agree; a few words about them wouldn't hurt. T.*

As for the overlay thing, it's easy enough to make attempt to trick people with those against the rules, or even just have the color of the pet in the stats.

I agree with you completely l, i don't like this viewing only one pet, i find that v1 was actualy better than v2. V2 is just all glitchy, i saw no problem with v1. I still think it's funny though, everyone was always impatint for the arrival of v2 and now it's here hardly anyone seems to like it much xd

I agree too! I also have the problem of to much delay time when trying to search through peoples pets. I also liked to read the different deions of each pet when i was looking at profiles...And now it takes to much of a h*censored*le so i don't even try to click on that link. I too like the old way of being able to view all the pets and deions at the same time!

i rather like the new pet pages. more customization... Tho they need to be fixed, is a good thing. people looked at my profile before because it had lots of stuff on it. now they've just got to find the stuff for each pet instead. i like it because it prevents overlays. i didn't like the overlays. i like it because i can add more stuff for each creatu that won't make my profile longer. i like pet pages because i'm hoping that eventually we'll be able to customize pet backgrounds and such, and my pets will be able to hold contests in the future. i don't like the inability to view all pets at once, but you couldn't do that from the creatu page and see all the stuff they had on it anyway. and yes, i've already attempted to view other people's creatu pages. sadly, no one has done much, but then, they're not up to par yet either. as for seeing the wealth of a person by their profile creatu... Eh, i don't care about that. i now feel i have the ability to post my stories to each creatu page rather than having them sit on my hard drive doing nothing. i have the ability to add more art to my creatu page without cluttering up my profile m*censored*ively. There is a lot of potential for pet pages. i think you should all wait and see what you can do with them.

i understand your point and i miss the deions on profiles, but i'm pleased with the pet pages. Although, there are still many errors on the pet pages that i'm really hoping will get fixed soon. Two happen to be that you can't put music and this ' symbol without messing up the whole page. So i can't write "her's" "he's" "can't" or anything like that. |

I agree with geo and uwi. The main problem is that v2 has yet to reach it's full potential. Bugs, errors, and glitches are still being fixed and all of this takes time. We just have to be pactient.

it takes time to iron out glitches and bugs. patrick waited as long as he could, but people kept pressing and nagging him to release it you know. and everyone was so excited while it was being upgraded, now all they want to do is complain. yeah, glitches and bugs happen. new layouts take time to get used to. be patient, it'll work itself out. and rescreatu is much faster at fixing bugs and glitches than other sites i've been on. You will get used to it, and you will start loving it. i'm already used to it myself, and i'd hate to go back to v1, even though i growl at certain annoyances in v2 as well. can't get much better than pet galleries!

i agree with geo and uwi. I like v2 in spite of glitches, but can think of so many improvements. The two biggest improvements needed are: showing the color of the pet on all parts of the deion and details. ability to show all the pets at once.

i agree mostly with l. But most of my discontentment has faded now that there is the 'view all pets' module. I still don't like the fact that you can't see the creatu deions automatically. The links are annoying and take too long to load. |
