Note-- The idea here is from Danger, it's not my own. o3o

It could be beneficial to the community to have a PG-13 section of the forums. The forums, as I understand, are open for all ages to see right now. The shoutbox is PG-13, yet many discussions are "not allowed" on it because someone occasionally gets uncomfortable. The thing is that sometimes it's a bit irrational to have to stop a conversation--even a civil, intelligent one--because one or two people are uncomfortable with it and would like the subject changed.

If there were a PG-13 section on the forums, we could discuss mature topics without anybody getting uncomfortable about it. You don't want to talk about feminine things, or rights for certain groups of people, or anything like that? Okay, cool! We can totally respect that! Just don't open the thread that that topic is being discussed on!

Also, methinks this would ease a lot of the tension in the SB. And it seems that everybody wants that. c:

Please support this idea!

I'm iffy. I mean, I've met alot of people over thirteen and can't handle the word "fart" without bursting into laughter. I mean, not all people are like that but I'm not sure if everyone over thirteen is entirely mature enough for mature topic discussions.

Idk, but I support anyways.

But, would it be inaccessible to everyone under thirteen? My only question. c:

Support definitely. The forums are too censored right now to continue some of the conversations we have on the sb on them. This would actually help a lot for those who are upset that they are not able to discuss what they want in the sb.

Ah, yes, Florence, here's the beauty of it. c: If you see a thread with a ti
tle that could lead to something you don't want to talk about (at PG-13, I'm willing to bet most people will be mature enough not to include derogatory or "specific" words in the titles, and that could be added to a rule section for that forum if need be--just another suggestion), you can just ignore it! c:

And thanks to everyone for supporting c:

EDIT-- Sonador: "But, would it be inaccessible to everyone under thirteen? My only question. c:"

That's the idea, yep!

Hmm.
Well.
You still have my support, but there's just one thing I want to say real quick. I could see this becoming a place to talk about stuff that isn't Res-appropriate at all because "younger users can't see it"... which is why I think everyone should be able to view it, but they don't have to get involved if they don't want to. c:
Like, on CS, for example, everyone can view the 18+ forums but primarily only 18+ can post. c:
Just an idea.

Sonador: "I could see this becoming a place to talk about stuff that isn't Res-appropriate at all"

I totally understand where that concern is coming from. However, that's another thing that could be included in the forum rules. c: For example, if something is extreme, hateful, or anything like that, it could be deleted without warning, and an explanation could be sent to whoever created the thread in question.

This is just a working idea, and if anyone would want to address any other potential problems that would be awesome, because I bet a lot of users like myself would actually like to see this implemented. c:

Yes, but younger kids like clicking on things and then read things they may not be supposed to. I think it would be better to not allow them to be able to get in so the temptation isn't there at all.

Sona basically the forum is the same as the SB now, which isn't accessible to anyone under 13 unless given a parent's permission. We don't talk about extremely inappropriate things there, but we do sometimes have mature topics that we might not be able to discuss on the forums. The recent problem is discussion keeps getting shut down because someone is uncomfortable with it. This wouldn't happen in a forum as people can choose which threads they view.

Edit: Forgot to say I support.

I really support this! I think it would be a great idea to have a forum for this specifically.
