We could make some kind of epic quests that asks for pets of a random color and species...then make it so player's can't skip any steps and are forced to buy pets from other plays if they want to make progress on the quest quickly.

This would create a long term goal for players as well as boost rancher shop sale!

Oh wait...

And perhaps if we added some incredible prizes to that epic quest, and maybe even a small tu reward. Not only would it keep tu flowing but it would throw another 100k into circulation every time someone finished the quest.

The pet requested is completely random. You are no more likely to get an albino than a natural pet requested. People just get stuck and complain about albinos so they seem more prevalent.

Hatched pet prices stay pretty propotinate to their hatch rarity. Nothing is really going to change that short of changing rarity.

We are working on new ways to expand pet value beyond color rarity.

And for the record, I was teaseing Rudolf in my first post. This was posted right after the release of pet quests, when there was a HUGE increase it pet sales already happening.
