Alright, so everyone hates lag, right?
The lag isn't caused by people hatching or doing Spring dives. There aren't enough people online at reset at once for that.

In fact, the lag is, primarily, caused by all the pets getting fed at once, or so I've been told by staff.

I was thinking over ways to solve this problem.
We can't just limit the Food Pen to the "Feed Now" option because that wouldn't be fair to the users on hiatus who don't want to stick their pets in the Showroom (for aging purposes.).

We can't set the food pen to auto-feed at any other time site-wide because that would cause the same problem.

So what I suggest is a self-set autofeed time. It would do the same thing as reset, essentially, but you'd set your own time for the pets to be fed each day. Any hour; 5pm RST, 2am RST, anything you like. That way, not every single pet is getting fed at once, and there would be less lag at reset.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Having discussed this idea with you already, this has my full support!

Patrick is currently working on redesigning some things that will not only eliminate lag, but page loads altogether. =) I am not positive if the lag of creating a backup will be completely eliminated or not, but personally, I don't mind it considering the benefits.
