this one's kind of a stretch,but how about selling unnamed pets in rancher shops?

this way if you're stumped on naming a rare pet,just pop it in your shop and let the customer name it him/herself.

now some of you might think that ranchers would be too lazy to ever think of good names and sell 'em if this feature was added,but really...have you noticed how many pets have names like sgvrt4etbewr or 2557645278dfve? lmao!

I have to disagree.

The fact that a pet is unnamed usually adds to its worth.  The downside to this is that trying to sell an unnamed pet prevents the user from hatching more until the pet is sold.  If there was no reason to name the pet you were going to sell, most people would not.  Unnamed pets wouldn't be special any more.

Good idea, really, but I don't think it would work out well.

thanks for your opinions! and tacos,i don't really think unnamed pets are..special,really,as all pets are unnamed at one point or another,and  as nessie said,we CAN always just post out unnamed pets in the forums,but being able to stock them would be so much easier.

And,as more and more people join the site,the worth of pets keeps dropping and dropping,because so many users don't bother to think of a creative name. if we added this feature,it would preserve a pet's worth,instead of it being junked or tossed in the forest.

Can you imagine how many unnamed natties you would see newbies put in?! They'd not want to release it 'cause they might get cash from it, and they'd probably put it in the rancher shop in hopes of getting cash for it. All these naive people would be flooding their shops and getting upset when no one wants to buy them! All these horrors would like, screw everything up!

Cory:  Yes, they are unnamed at one point or another, but if you can put them in your rancher, you can also clear your hatchery so that you can hatch more.  That's the current difficulty for selling unnamed pets: You can't hatch anything more until you sell it.  This encourages people to just release the pets that aren't likely to make them tu.  This, in turn, helps raise the value of pets, as stated on the "Let's Start Something!" thread in this forum.

Not to mention that it would lead to what Ping said, which I hadn't come to my mind.  I just like the current system of selling unnamed pets because it has that downside that helps keep it in check.
