Shoutbox PAUSE Button

Normal User Posts: 524	This has been suggested by various users already, but I've decided to post it here, as I would really like a PAUSE button to be put in place. Under the 'Post Message' button, it would be fantastic if a 'Pause' button were implemented. It would make it ten times easier to read older posts without all the automatic refreshing, and users will actually be able to take screenshots without the Shoutbox blinking away. Please support this idea here. Include your reasoning if you disagree. Note: Also, Yaizhbeen has also suggested that when pressing the 'Pause' button, a new window opens, just like with the 'Enlarge Chat' option.

Normal User Posts: 1,443	My only complaint about this would be that, once we unpaused it, we would get a giant flood of posts. If we didn't, then we'd either miss what had been posted or it wouldn't be moving fast enough to matter anyway.

Normal User Posts: 221	I agree with wolfspirit there. The side SB already has that issue when loading. Causes my browser to freeze til it catches up. I'm sure the larger chatroom would do worse. Normal User Posts: 437	How about the freeze button didn't freeze the actual shoutbox, but brought up a frozen version of the actual state in a small pop up window in the middle of the screen (like the training options), while the original shoutbox would be still visible next to it on the side. That way you could read back the previous posts on the pop up version, but see from the corner of your eye if there is a new post, and you can glance back to see if it is important for you or not. If not, than you just return reading the frozen one, which won't jump away before your eyes. And once you finished reading it, you just close it, and it won't affect the original shoutbox in any way.

Normal User Posts: 4,093	Complete, utter support. Every time I scroll up to read a post that I missed when the SB was going fast, it drags me back down for every post. A PAUSE button would be very useful for that and other issues. I would love this to be implemented. :3 Dustfeather -> Sparrow -> Universe
