People subscribe to threads, so they can look at replies on the thread that may be important to them, but is there any way to UNsubscribe? If not, I think there should be an unsubscribe tick box, you click the box, and send the post, and POOOF, no more annoying alerts from that forum

There is. You go to subions and there's an x button you can click. :)
